Versatile Arts Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For over a decade, Versatile Arts has stood as a beacon for aerial and circus arts enthusiasts right here in Seattle, Washington. Established in early 2007, it proudly holds the distinction of being Seattle's first full-time school dedicated specifically to adult aerial arts. What began in a shared studio with a handful of students quickly blossomed into a thriving community, necessitating a move into its own dedicated facility in August 2008. Today, Versatile Arts, now operating as New Moon Movement Arts for its studio operations while Versatile Arts continues to produce shows and support industry software, offers a comprehensive and safety-conscious environment where individuals of all levels can explore the exhilarating world of aerial and circus disciplines. Their mission is clear: to provide a creative, safe, and supportive space where aspiring and experienced circus artists alike can learn, train, perform, and find inspiration. Whether you're a complete novice curious about what it's like to defy gravity, or a seasoned aerialist looking to refine your technique, Versatile Arts (New Moon Movement Arts) provides a structured curriculum, refined over 15 years, that prioritizes safety and control at every stage of instruction. This commitment to excellence and community has made it a beloved institution within the Seattle arts and fitness scene.
Location and Accessibility
Versatile Arts is conveniently located at 7601 Greenwood Ave N UNIT 103, Seattle, WA 98103, USA. This prime spot in the vibrant Greenwood neighborhood places it within easy reach for many Seattle residents. The studio's entrance is discreetly found on 76th, under a distinctive green awning, making it a hidden gem for those in the know. The Greenwood area is well-served by public transportation, with the #5 bus line running directly to and from downtown Seattle, and the #48 bus also providing convenient access within a few blocks of the studio. For those who prefer to drive, parking is generally available and free on certain parts of Greenwood Avenue and on the surrounding residential streets. However, visitors are advised to pay attention to parking restrictions, particularly 2-hour spots on Greenwood Ave, to avoid ticketing during longer sessions. It's also important to note that parking spots directly across from the studio's door and on the north side of 76th are private residence spots and should be avoided. The location in Greenwood means easy access to a variety of local amenities, including markets, coffee shops, and eateries, allowing students to grab a bite or a beverage before or after their classes. Versatile Arts Reviews
My favorite place to train for aerial arts. They have been so safety conscious and worked so hard to keep a sense of community during the shut downs. So glad that classes, tho small, are running again. And now, (12/2021) live shows are back! What a treat!
Dec 14, 2021 · Jo Ellen BurkholderI had a wonderful time during open practice. The facility is clean and the atmosphere is very positive. Jen was extremely friendly and helpful during my visit. I definitely recommend this space!
Sep 20, 2020 · Jessalyn HoffmanI met Lauren Kiehl at the American Circus Educators Conference and wanted to leave my 5 star support for their project at Versatile Arts. We all know how difficult it is to manage such a crazy endeavour as running a circus program, so best of luck to you. Until next year!-Alissa Bonneville from Studio CirQus
