Next Generation Dance Company Reviews
My daughter, 5, has just finished her third year of dance. The entire experience has been wonderful. Ms Christian is so kind and sweet. She has boosted my daughter's confidence and instilled a love for dance. We will continue to attend Next Generation for years to come.
Jun 25, 2025 · alyssa leoneIncredible studio mostly because of the owner, Ms Christan, and the other instructors. We just finished our 2nd year and could not be happier with our experience. I have young dancers (3 and 5) and found that all of the instructors are patient, kind, and fun! My kids looked forward to dance each class - never fought me to go, which is huge - and have loved their teachers. I really love that Ms Christan makes herself completely available to her dancers - she’s accommodated requests, answers questions round the clock, and is always happy and pleasant to be around. NGDC just had the first recital under Ms Christan’s ownership and it was wonderful! The dances were great, the stage staff was great, and the kids all looked so happy. There are some more competitive, more serious classes at this studio - which I can’t comment on but I would highly recommend this studio to anyone interested in starting dance classes.

The instructors are not only talented dancers but also incredibly patient and encouraging, creating a supportive and fun learning environment. The variety of classes offered caters to all levels and interests. My daughter has thrived here, gaining confidence, a love for dance, and a second family and I highly recommend Next Generation Dance Company to anyone looking for a quality dance education."
Apr 02, 2025 · Semije DoecksAs a dedicated parent, I take pride in supporting my child's development and extracurricular activities. However, I feel compelled to share my observations, as these concerns seem to resonate with many parents I’ve spoken to in the lobby. While this school has potential, there are significant operational issues that need immediate attention to meet the expectations of its clientele.Overcrowded ClassesThe primary concern is the class sizes, which have become unreasonably large. It’s clear the school is overbooked, and this directly affects the quality of instruction. With upwards of 18-20 children in a single class and only 1.5 teachers (one full-time instructor and partially engaged assistance), much of the time is wasted. For instance, spending 20 minutes on coloring activities during a session is not what parents expect when enrolling their children in a dance program. Hiring more teachers or offering additional classes would be a logical step toward resolving this issue.Class Timing and DelaysDue to overcrowding, classes often start late, causing frustration among parents and children alike. This is a noticeable shift from how the school operated in the past, when punctuality and manageable class sizes were the norm. Unfortunately, this decline in efficiency has left many families dissatisfied.Inadequate FacilitiesThe dance school's utilities are below average, which impacts both the children and their parents. During the winter, the heating system is insufficient, and in the summer, cooling is barely functional. Additionally, the design of the facility is inconvenient: the only bathroom is located inside a classroom, requiring individuals to disrupt active sessions to access it.Limited Lobby SpaceWith the current class sizes, the lobby is often overcrowded, offering neither enough space to sit nor sufficient time to observe the children. This overcrowding not only diminishes the viewing experience but also creates an uncomfortable environment for parents.Closure Without CompensationThe recent four-week closure—due to power loss and an extended holiday weeks (Christmas and New Years was mid week)—has been a sore point for parents. Despite the lack of classes, tuition fees were still collected, leaving families feeling exploited. This practice suggests a lack of transparency and accountability on the business’s part.Communication and ProfessionalismFinally, the dance school’s written communication needs improvement. Announcements and notifications frequently contain grammar errors, which reflects poorly on an institution dedicated to teaching children. Attention to detail in written communication is critical, as it sets an example of professionalism and respect for parents and students alike.ConclusionWhile parents have been patient and courteous, the growing dissatisfaction is undeniable. The dance school’s leadership must adopt a service-oriented approach to meet the expectations of its community. Improving class sizes, facilities, punctuality, and communication are essential steps toward regaining trust and ensuring a positive experience for everyone involved.P.S. I strongly encourage the school to proofread all official announcements moving forward. As dance mentors, you set the standard for punctuality, grammar, respect, and customer service—qualities that should be evident in every interaction with your clientele.
