National Dance Clubs Reviews
My husband and I began taking ballroom dance lessons at National Dance Clubs in Franklin earlier this year, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. What started as a lighthearted hobby quickly turned into a meaningful journey of connection, communication, and trust. Dancing together has deepened our relationship in ways we didn’t expect—there’s something powerful about learning to move in sync, listen without speaking, and support each other through every step.We are so grateful to our amazing instructor, Kymber, whose guidance, patience, and creativity have helped us grow from knowing almost nothing to performing with confidence and joy. Her teaching style is both encouraging and challenging, and she has a real gift for making every lesson fun and purposeful. We also want to give a special shoutout to Lilli, Caleb, and Mateo—each of them brings so much energy and positivity to the studio. Their support and enthusiasm are a big part of why we keep coming back week after week.National Dance Clubs has created a space that is not only professional and high-quality, but also genuinely welcoming. As a same-sex couple, we’ve felt completely safe, affirmed, and embraced by the entire community here. It’s a rare and beautiful thing to find a place where you can fully be yourself—and also learn some seriously cool dance moves along the way!We wholeheartedly recommend this studio to anyone looking to learn, grow, and be part of a truly special dance family.

Jun 21, 2025 · Becca SpeierMy husband and I always thought we could dance—turns out, we just didn’t know the actual ballroom techniques. Kymber and National Dance Clubs Franklin have helped us learn so much, and now we’re doing tango, foxtrot, and all kinds of fancy footwork with real confidence. The atmosphere here is incredibly welcoming. Kymber is a blast, and the whole crew—Lilli, Caleb, Mateo—make it fun, challenging, and totally worth it. We love the combination of our solo dance lessons with the group classes and Friday night parties to test everything out.If you’ve ever wanted to learn to ballroom dance, I would highly recommend National Dance Clubs!
Jun 25, 2025 · Matt McClainIt is my pleasure to write this review of the National Dance Club here in Franklin. My teacher Lilly and her husband Caleb took over the studio her grandfather started back in 1984. I have been introduced to a number of dances in smooth, rhythm, and country. I have performed 14 of them on the competition floor. They offer private lessons, group lessons, and practice parties every week. If a special day is in the future, they will make you look great for that first dance. The other two instructors Kymber and Matteo are great. They make the lessons fun for the students. Anyone wanting to learn to “cut a rug” should try NDC. The staff and students are great!! If you would like to be my guest on Friday night I’ll be happy to dance with you. Give it a try, you will be happy you did! 🕺💃
Jun 20, 2025 · Dan BOur ballroom dancing journey began when we were invited to a friend's birthday party at a local dance studio in October 2021. The party favor was two introductory dancing lessons. We didn't think too much about these lessons -- but that we would use them -- sometime. Lilly was the instructor who called us several times to schedule the two lessons. Neither of us had really danced before, but we decided to try it and see where it led.So we learned about four ranges of motion and connections and were exposed to the waltz in those two introductory lessons. We enjoyed our time with Lilly learning some basics and decided to sign up for a package of six lessons (Confidence Builder). We were having fun dancing together, getting good exercise, and meeting new friends. We continue to purchase lesson packages and learn new steps and new dances.Lilly told us about a competition in October 2022, but we told her that we were just dancing for fun. Lilly can be very persuasive. We competed, had fun doing it, and received multiple first-place awards. Next, Lilly encouraged us to sign up for a Showcase -- a professionally choreographed dance to music that is chosen just for us. This was a challenge and required us to use some acting skills as well as our dance skills, but working with a professional choreographer was a great experience. We are currently on our third Showcase. We have (mostly) settled on the dances that we want to focus on. Lilly has been, and continues to be, a very outgoing person who is very patient as we learn new steps and polish the finer points of steps we have already learned. Her favorite word is "again". Repetition builds muscle memory and insures that we are not learning bad habits.Forty-five minute lessons go by quickly, The last five minutes of each lesson are used to review the lesson which includes what we learned and what we need to work on. This is documented in a Verification email. It comes as no surprise that after some lessons, we are sweating! We have become friends with other staff members and other students. Dancing is good exercise and good fun. We recommend this to couples and singles.Earlier this year, Lilly was presented with an opportunity to own her own studio. She had hoped and planned to do that in five years or so. But, as the saying goes, she had an offer that was too good to refuse and now owns the National Dance Clubs studio in Franklin, Tennessee. Lilly is still the same instructor we have worked with for over three years -- the only difference is that now she is the studio owner as well as being an instructor.
