The Kumu (teacher) has a lot of patience and kindness in her way of teaching especially when you are a beginner. She makes you feel welcome t,o be part of her family and is very encouraging in wanting you to learn the ways of hula. I have learned so much from Kumu Ilima and have really enjoyed her classes. There is a lot to be said when you enjoy learning, it means you have a good teacher.

Auntie Ilima is incredibly welcoming, and her passion to share her knowledge of hula and Hawaiian culture is deep and genuine. My daughter and I have loved the keiki and adult classes, and we have both learned so much in the span of just six months. We will continue to take classes with Ka Hula O'Ilima as long as they are offered. Highly, highly recommend this halau to beginning and experienced dancers!
