Modern Dance Arts Reviews
We came from another studio and boy, do I wish we had started here! We've only been coming 5 months and I have seen an immense improvement in my daughter's form and technique. Ms. Felicia's Jr. Ballet II pushes her (in a good way) and she's sore after a lot of practices. I was blown away at her improvement in such a little time. I love that fact that my dancer comes home with good and some not so good critiques, it tells me that they're getting individual attention. We were lacking that at the last studio. I would highly recommend this studio to any one serious about dance!!!
Jan 19, 2022 · shelly winfreyGreat studio teaches child all they know and are very technically sound. The issue with me is the cost. They went up on tuition, competition dance any and every fee you can think of. 2022 competition tuition sept-april 80 dollars. 2023 (88 dollars)2022 competition fee Sept-dec 125 dollars2023 competition fee 175Must have two technical dance classes to even be in competition. Not including try out, enrollment, and recital fee. Then the 100 plus dollar per costume. That is just part of it. Then it’s so cliquish it’s like the parents that have more than one kid or a kid in a lot of classes run the place. They don’t want to make them mad as they is all the instructors paycheck. They want to turn something fun into a full-time job so they don’t have to do anything elseMaybe the biggest issue I have is nothing has ever been updated in that place. It’s scary to be there at night it’s dark. They do have cameras, but maybe change the inside instead of using that money for salaries. It’s money money
Oct 31, 2023 · Blake LongMy daughter attends here. Its her 1st year here as well she attends a beginners class for 3 to 5 years olds. Felica is her teacher, i feel she does an amazing job at working with the younger kids. Would highly recommend here for all ages!
Mar 09, 2017 · Kelsey OliphantMy daughter has attended MDA for almost 7 years. I love that they really care about teaching fundamentals and aren't just about glitz. MDA is truly a family. I would recommend this studio to anyone looking! Love MDA!
Feb 28, 2017 · diana fletcherI’m going to start this off by saying that I am not coming here to bash MDA. I do not currently dance here and haven’t for a while, but now I am a professional performance artist and I have been doing a lot of thinking about where it all started...I started dancing at MDA when I was very little as well as my little sister who still did up to this year. The classes here are HEAVILY performance/choreography based, so if you are a beginner wanting to learn the basic fundamentals of dance , THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. You come in and they basically start teaching you choreography RIGHT off the bat with no explanation of the actual BASIC FUNDAMENTALS, like posture , musicality, balance , etc etc and then you are made to feel like you are lesser if you don’t understand a move.I’m not going to give it a 1 star just because the teachers here are really amazing dancers, I just wish that there would be options for classes that weren’t so based upon choreography. Teaching someone who doesn’t know basic fundamentals of dance choreo will never turn out pretty...
