Chrystie Street Ballet Academy Reviews
My daughter has been attending Chrystie Street Ballet since she was three and a half years old. Recently, she completed a transformative two-year journey that continues to shape her. Through weekly ballet classes, she has developed graceful poses, a keen sense of movement to music, and much more. Ms. Mindy, her assistant teacher, and the entire faculty foster a warm and disciplined environment, teaching with age-appropriate methods and instilling good manners. Each year concludes with a grand performance day; we regret missing the first, but eagerly attended this past June. These performances have given my daughter invaluable experiences, filling her with pride and deepening her passion for dance and hard work.As a Brooklyn family, we were initially hesitant about having our daughter travel to the city, 280 Broadway location. However, a trusted coworker recommended Chrystie Street Ballet, where her two daughters set positive examples. Taking a chance on this ballet school was entirely worthwhile; my daughter is truly learning ballet in a structured yet enjoyable manner.
Jul 15, 2024 · Jeen LeeMy daughter has loved dancing with this group for over a year since she turned 3. We've found the teachers to be caring and very devoted to helping each of the kids build early skills in discipline and technique. From the very beginning my daughter enjoyed getting into her leotard tights and shoes, fully participated in the class, and was eager to come back the next week. Her parents have no dancing skill whatsoever but she has become quite graceful and focused in this program. She was very proud to perform in front of all the families in the school recital at the end of the year!
Jul 13, 2024 · L SunMy daughter has been taking ballet with Chrystie Street Ballet for about 4 years. They offer good quality classes at an affordable price and the traditional discipline with some shortmoments of play which create good community (such as dress up day the week of Halloween, quick share times and freeze dance when possible). They have high expectations and teach/review the corresponding vocabulary words with the moves taught. My daughter has enjoyed working up the leotard levels and is looking forward to reaching the black leotard level!
Oct 20, 2021 · Cynthia Hinds-OrtizIf anyone is looking for a great ballet school near the Lower Manhattan area, I recommend checking out Chrystie Ballet. Ms. Melinda and her staff are wonderful. My kids love her teaching style. Kids are so well behaved. My little one took right away with Ms. Sara. We put the kids in there to develop confidence, balance, posture, etc. We did try out several other places before being referred by a friend to here.P.S. The school did lose their lease unexpectedly. They currently have satellite locations about 15 minutes walking distance from Chinatown. The school teached formal ballet. We love that the teachers are demanding. My kids come out smiling after class.
