Ensemble Ballet Theatre distinguishes itself through several outstanding features and highlights that make it a premier choice for dance education in the Washington region:
- Brand-New, State-of-the-Art Facilities: EBT's new space, opened in March 2025, is a major highlight. It features three modern, clean, and spacious studios equipped with sprung floors and Marley dance floors. A sprung floor is a specially constructed sub-floor that provides controlled resilience, absorbing shock and returning energy to dancers, which significantly reduces fatigue and minimizes the risk of injuries to joints and bones. Marley dance floor refers to a type of roll-out vinyl surface specifically designed for dance, offering optimal slip resistance and a smooth yet grippy finish, ideal for various dance styles. These features demonstrate EBT's commitment to dancer safety and performance quality.
- Incredible Full-Scale Professional-Style Productions: This is arguably EBT's most distinguishing feature. Students in the Performance Division participate in large-scale story ballets with significant casts (80-100 dancers, including company members, extras, and adults) in professional theatre settings. The "high-end production value" of these shows, including elaborate sets, costumes, and lighting, provides an invaluable, real-world experience of professional theatre production that sets EBT apart from many other studios.
- Highly Educated and Talented Faculty: The instructors are consistently praised for being "well educated" and focusing on "proper technique and excellent choreography." The director is particularly noted for being "kind, talented, and an excellent choreographer/teacher," inspiring students and guiding the artistic vision of the company.
- Strong Emphasis on Technique and Craft: EBT spares no expense on its students' training, ensuring a rigorous approach to dance education that prioritizes strong foundational technique across all styles offered.
- Nurturing and Welcoming Community: The studio fosters a strong "family bond" among dancers, parents, and volunteers. This supportive atmosphere helps teens take pride in themselves, promotes independence, and fosters self-confidence, creating a sense of belonging for each dancer. Parents and volunteers are described as dedicated and welcoming.
- Non-Profit Dedication: As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, EBT is dedicated to the cultural enrichment of the community through dance arts, making high-quality productions accessible and offering membership (for performance division) at a nominal annual fee, rather than excluding based on ability to pay for expenses like rehearsals, performances, or costumes.
- Accessibility to the Arts: The full-scale productions are offered in local venues accessible to students, families, and the elderly, making high-quality dance performances an affordable way to introduce the general public to the dance arts.

Ensemble Ballet Theatre Reviews
Their new space (opened in 2025) is beautiful - 3 modern, clean studios with a sprung floor and marley dance floors. Our daughter graduated from the Performance Division a couple years ago and it was a wonderful experience for both her and our family. The productions are incredible and set this company apart from many others - the dancers get to be part of full-scale professional-style productions and experience what it takes to put on these huge story ballets, complete with large casts (80-100 including company dancers, extras and adults) in a professional theatre setting with high-end production value. Can't say enough about the company and the family bonds it creates. Highly recommend!

I am completely impressed by the director of the company, she is kind, talented and an excellent choreographer/teacher. The facility is clean and well maintained. The productions performed by the accompanying ballet company are exquisite. This studio spares no expense on their students. The parents and volunteers associated with the ballet company are dedicated and welcoming. I will always recommend EBT as the best dance studio we have ever attended in Maple Valley.
