4.0
I have been attending Boston Ballet classes for the past two years. I’ve always enjoyed my experience with the staff, except I’ve had two incidents with Jennifer at the front desk for the second time Jennifer insinuated that I did not pay for a class that I had paid for as if I’m trying to take a class without paying for it When I had class on May 5 she told me that I had not paid for a class that I was signed up for and that she will be charging me for the class. I stated that I had already paid for the class. And that I had paid for two classes that I was put on waiting list for but I was canceled because the classes were too full, which is why I was in this class. She said OK after I took the class I got an email from Jennifer stating that she charged me anyways for the class so I went back to Jennifer And showed her the text messages from the school where my classes were canceled. I also showed her on my credit statement where they charged me for the class . Jennifer is very dismissive and very rude when I come in and she told me she’s very confused and she’ll have to look into these things deeper after I had already paid for the class. I asked her since she charged me twice for the class instead of refunding me for what she already charged just put me in next weeks class. She did not put me in next weeks class she just looked at me and dismissed me and I asked her not to charge me again without my permission. Jennifer is very unprofessional at the desk when I come in. She’s extremely dismissive and I really don’t appreciate the treatment because I’m not trying to steal classes.she did this twice and I find it very insulting. - monique tobey

Located in the vibrant Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, this school is a true cultural gem, dedicated to nurturing talent and fostering a lifelong love for dance.

Boston Ballet School is more than just a place to learn pliés and pirouettes; it’s a rigorous yet rewarding environment where students are guided by an exceptional faculty, many of whom have performed professionally with Boston Ballet or other renowned companies. Their comprehensive curriculum is designed to cater to a wide spectrum of ages and abilities, from the youngest children discovering the joy of movement to adults revisiting a passion or trying ballet for the first time. Whether you envision a professional dance career or simply seek to enhance your physical and mental well-being through the beauty of ballet, Boston Ballet School offers programs to help you achieve your goals.

While Boston Ballet School generally garners high praise for its exceptional teaching and programs, it's important to acknowledge that, like any large and busy institution, individual experiences can vary. One reviewer, for example, detailed unfortunate incidents involving a front desk staff member and a theft incident, highlighting challenges with customer service and security protocols. These experiences, while concerning, do not necessarily reflect the core educational quality of the school's dance instruction, which the same reviewer described as "exceptional."

Conversely, the overall sentiment regarding the quality of instruction and the improvement in skill achieved by students remains overwhelmingly positive. This suggests that while operational aspects may sometimes face challenges, the core mission of delivering high-quality ballet education is consistently met. For Massachusetts locals prioritizing elite ballet training and a robust curriculum, the school’s reputation for artistic excellence continues to be a powerful draw.

The school's connection to the prestigious Boston Ballet company also offers a unique pathway and inspiration for aspiring professional dancers, providing a glimpse into the world of a major ballet organization.
