Alden Moves Dance Theater Reviews
Our daughter has been with Aden Moves Dance Theater from kindergarten through 3rd grade, and it’s been a great fit for her creative, free-spirited personality. Ballet wasn’t quite her thing, but she loved the variety and improvisation in the summer camps and Dance Explorers after-school program. Over the years, she’s gained confidence, especially on stage, and discovered what kinds of dance she enjoys most. The supportive environment has helped her grow both as a dancer and a person. Highly recommend!
Jun 09, 2025 · Mary Jane CapiliAlden Moves is an amazing, nurturing dance studio with the right mix of technique, care, and fun. Nine years ago my daughter and I started attending Toddler Tuesdays and she has never left. She’s taken classes in ballet, jazz and modern and performed in various shows. The teachers and director are knowledgable about not only movement and dance, but also how to work with growing dancers. They really are a fantastic group and we are happy to be part of this school community!
Jun 10, 2025 · Lidia GonzalezOur family loves Alden's! It has been my daughter's home away from home since the studio's beginning. Over the years, she has participated in everything they have to offer. That includes Get Moving, ballet, jazz, modern and hip hop classes, as well as their camps, workshops, annual Nutcracker, and end of year show. Alden and her staff have also been instrumental in helping to choreograph dance audition videos for summer programs and performing arts high schools.Something I especially love is the live piano accompaniment during classes. I strongly feel it sets Alden's apart from other Brooklyn studios, where one typically experiences a more cookie-cutter/factory feel. The live music adds a touch of sophistication and makes class feel extra special. The kids really pick up on this, and it elevates their learning.Alden and her amazing teaching staff are all kind, warm and nurturing. Their instruction is always thoughtful and purposeful. With the studio's continued guidance and support, my daughter has flourished. It's a very special place, and we love being a part of their community!
Mar 20, 2025 · annmarie rizziMy child loves Dance Explorers! It’s opened a world of dance and a joy in learning and performing. Since starting after school (which is being expanded to serve 889, 139, 217, and 130 next year) she’s had so many opportunities to participate in classes, rehearsals, and performances from Nutcracker to Dance Parade. I highly recommend Alden Moves.
Jun 05, 2025 · Amy AlthoffAlden Moves is such an absolute gem in Brooklyn. My daughter started taking dance classes at age 4 and immediately connected to the teachers and studio community. Dance at Alden Moves has built her self-esteem, her sense of belonging, and of course, her creativity and love of movement and music. Alden and her staff are a diverse and talented group of working artists, and have been such a great influence on my kid. Somehow, Alden strikes the right balance of making the classes and (optional) performances disciplined yet fun. The vibe is friendly and low-pressure, but also gives the kids opportunities to grow in their skill and experience.
