VivaArts Introduce

Are you a local in Washington looking for a dynamic way to improve your physical coordination, enhance your athleticism, and become part of a vibrant, supportive community? VivaArts in West Seattle offers a truly unique and enriching experience that goes beyond typical fitness studios. Specializing in Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art that seamlessly blends elements of dance, acrobatics, music, and spirituality, VivaArts is a community staple that has been enriching lives in our city for years. It's a place where tradition meets modern movement, fostering growth for individuals of all ages and skill levels.

VivaArts is more than just a place to learn a martial art; it's a hub for "Community + Culture in Motion." As highlighted by numerous long-standing members, the dedication of the coaches, particularly owner and instructor Jen (also known as Agua-Viva), is exceptional. Her approach is consistently described as "organized, thoughtful, and professional," creating an environment where students feel supported and inspired. For parents, the peace of mind that comes with knowing their children are under the guidance of instructors who are "incredibly good with kids" and adored by them, makes VivaArts an easy choice for extracurricular activities.

The beauty of Capoeira, as taught at VivaArts, lies in its multifaceted nature. It's a challenging physical discipline that significantly improves coordination and athleticism, yet it also offers a rich cultural and historical depth that engages the mind and spirit. For adults, the community aspect is particularly strong, with many discovering a "wonderful community of students passionate about learning all aspects of Capoeira (movements, music, culture, roda)." This collective passion and mutual support create a welcoming group that encourages everyone to "pitch in to support each other and the community." If you've ever considered trying Capoeira or are simply looking for a new way to connect and move, VivaArts is an inviting space to explore.
