Pre-K Gymnastics (Ages 3-5 years): Classes such as "Funny Bugs" (3 years) and "Giggle Worms/Good Friends" (4-5 years) help preschoolers channel their boundless energy through structured, imaginative lesson plans. These focus on building physical skills, socialization, listening, and following directions in a fun, non-competitive setting.
Grade School Gymnastics (Ages 5-12 years): Programs like "Good Friends/Flips/Hot Shots" offer individualized instruction with a focus on skill growth in tumbling, vaulting, beam (girls), uneven bars, parallel bars (boys), and rings (boys). These classes help build strength, endurance, and confidence as children master progressive skills.

The Little Gym of Brecksville/Sagamore distinguishes itself through several key features and highlights that contribute to its outstanding reputation and make it a preferred choice for families in the Ohio area.
The "Serious Fun" Philosophy: At its core, The Little Gym operates on a "Three-Dimensional Learning" approach. This proprietary philosophy ensures that physical activity is a conduit for nurturing the "whole child" across three holistic dimensions: "Get Moving!" (developing motor skills, strength, balance, coordination), "Brain Boost!" (nurturing listening, concentration, and decision-making), and "Life Skills!" (promoting sharing, teamwork, cooperation, and leadership). This comprehensive approach goes beyond just physical fitness.
Non-Competitive Environment: A significant highlight, frequently praised by parents, is the absence of pressure to compete. This allows children to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace, fostering a genuine love for movement and self-improvement without the stress often associated with competitive sports.
Experienced and Caring Staff: The owners, Katie and Bill, are "super involved and very nice and helpful," creating a welcoming atmosphere. The teachers are consistently described as "nice and experienced," providing high-quality instruction while making sure kids feel safe and supported. This dedication to positive interaction is crucial for building children's confidence.
Focus on Confidence Building: Numerous reviews attest to how the programs help children gain "the confidence she needs" and learn to "do a somersault off a block onto the mat with no fear." This emphasis on empowering children to overcome challenges and try new things is a cornerstone of their teaching.
Clean and Safe Environment: Parents consistently mention that the facility is "clean and safe," which is a top priority for families enrolling their children in physical activities. This attention to detail ensures a hygienic and secure space for play and learning.
Structured Fun: While emphasizing fun, classes are also well-structured with "imaginative and structured lesson plans." This balance ensures that children are engaged, learning, and developing physical skills while also practicing listening, socialization, and following directions.
Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum: The programs are carefully designed to be "developmentally appropriate" for each age group, ensuring that activities are challenging yet achievable, leading to consistent growth and success for every child.

Nov 14, 2024 · Angela BazzoWe love the little gym! The owners, Katie and Bill are super involved and very nice and helpful and responds fast if you have any questions or need help with anything. All of the teachers are also nice and experienced. I always feel like my kids are in great hands which is super important to me when it comes to gymnastics. It’s also a clean and safe environment. I could go on and on but I think you get the point, it’s great gymnastics place for your little one!
Nov 05, 2024 · Kasey JohnsonWe absolutely love The Little Gym! Katie and Bill are phenomenal to work with; we also love teacher Becky! We started after our daughter graduated from physical therapy and we wanted to keep challenging her physically. She had just started to walk but was very timid and scared to take risks if there was the potential of falling. Now she will do a somersault off a block onto the mat with no fear! The curriculum that is used in the Birds/Beasts classes is so developmentally appropriate and the routine of each class is easy and predictable for all children to know what is coming next. My parents love taking her too on the days they watch her. Scheduling is so easy if we need to make a change due to illness or vacation. Couldn’t ask for anything better!
Nov 26, 2024 · Ame IwanBoth of my boys have been going to the Little Gym since the were 9 months old. They have classes that challenge kids to push themselves mentally and physically. The kids don't even realize this because all of the learning and challenges are so carefully interwoven with fun and socializing. The skills offered in class grow with your child. Our eldest is 8 and learning how to safely use equipment and do his flips. Our youngest gets to let loose at 2 and just live his best life! Highly highly recommend this experience for your children! Great small business and we have always felt like part of their family!
Dec 01, 2021 · Tracy YoungMy daughter has been going to the little gym for a year now and we absolutely love it. She has become way more coordinated and confident. We also had her 6th birthday party here and all the kids had a blast, the girls working the party were amazing with all the kids and had such fun activities planned for the entire party, I was able to just sit back and watch. We love the little gym and will be members for years to come!
