Elevated Dance Headquarters Reviews
Elevated Dance Headquarters has changed my daughter’s outlook on dance in the last 3 years. The training is exceptional and the work ethic and professionalism is remarkable. This is my daughter’s 3rd year & I’ve seen so much growth in her since the start. Every year I wonder if we can outdo the work and bring the same energy as we did the previous year then I go to the first competition of the year and I’m amazed! The dedication, skill and hard work that the staff puts in and the work ethic that the dancers display on and off of the stage under the direction and leadership of Howard Washington speaks for itself when our kids hit the stage. This is not just a studio or hobby it’s FĀMILY!
Apr 20, 2024 · Mauriel DavisThese people are the real deal! I came here for my first “PPW” (power packed Wednesday) last week. I’m a retired dancer and cheerleader who hasn’t been back in the studio in a LONG time and just wanted to rescratch that itch. Me and my cousin thought we were coming for the 5:30 beginner, but soon found out they were only doing a 6:30 PPW intermediate/ advanced class (tip: check the insta for what classes they have) and decided to stay. I will forewarn, this studio and these dancers are GOOD. These people like I said are the REAL DEAL, pace of learning is very fast and the level of choreography is high, HOWEVER, the level of kindness matches that in every way. We were a bit intimidated to try the intermediate/ advanced class as we knew the high level of this studio but everyone’s kindness made what could have been an extremely intimidating experience, a fun one. Everyone from the lady working the front desk who spent time getting to know us and even checked in on our experience afterwards, to the two awesome choreographers who despite clearly being EXPERTS and used to dealing with dancers much more advanced than us, constantly emphasized the focus of the class being FUN and not necessarily being perfect at the moves, and multiple times reminded everyone to be easy on themselves judgement wise. Me and my cousin at one point were even a little embarassed to do one of the demonstrations with the rest of the group because they felt so much more advanced than us and the choreographers personally came up to us so kindly and encouraged us to still participate. They really make sure you don’t disappear from the back or get lost in the class. The little actions like that made again what at first felt very scary and intimidating, super welcoming. At first, the choreography was so difficult for me, I kinda wanted to tear up (just frustration at struggling at something I used to be so good at) and almost wanted to leave, but the constant encouragement and reminder that I wasn’t in a judgement environment, helped completely reframe the experience. It’s hard when you’re doing something like this and the level of performance is so high, not to be anxious or super hard on yourself/ embarassed, but despite being way way below the level of 90% of the dancers at this class, I left with a great experience and didn’t feel “out of place” or like I wasn’t welcome. Some of the more experienced dancers in the class even went out of their way after to wish us a good job and encourage us to come back. All and all, clearly this studio has the right idea both on level of performance and morale, a rare combo. Be prepared for the best, but not intimidated. If you don’t care; they don’t care! (In a good non/judging way) and the level of dance is second to none. I can only speak for my experiences with the drop in classes, but I plan to keep coming and getting better!
Apr 02, 2025 · Amaya HToday was her first class. They were very welcoming and inclusive. She had a great time. Howard was very engaging. I'd recommend this to any age group they teach
Jan 03, 2020 · Shannon corganElevated Dance HQ is a phenomenal studio, under the direction of Howard Washington II. Howard started with our oldest daughter, and has since trained two more of our children. Howard is exceptionally skilled at guiding his students toward the fundamentals of being great dancers, and respectable humans. He’s loyal and he cares about people, far beyond the world of dance. What’s equally amazing are the teachers, staff and parents who commit themselves daily to providing high quality dance instruction, and who are dedicated to creating a safe place for our young people to flourish. Rest assured, when you bring your child to EDH, they’ll be in very capable hands!
Apr 16, 2024 · KEI YANAMAYUBoth of my daughters have danced for EDHQ since it opened and have been under the direction of Howard Washington well over 10 years. EDHQ is more than just a dance studio. While the very dedicated and talented teachers bring out the absolute best in each dancer, they hold teaching these kids to be great humans in general as a top priority. I love watching the growth and evolution of all of the dancers as they continue get better and better each year. EDHQ is a family. I highly recommend this studio to anyone thinking of putting their children in dance. You will be blown away as we are each and every year by the stellar and breathtaking performances. I’m forever grateful that we are blessed to have this village for our children!
