The Dance Company of Ocala, LLC Reviews
Our daughter began dancing with TDC in 2019 when she was just 3 years old. After a short time at another studio, we returned in 2022—and we’re so glad we did. Watching her growth year after year has been such a joy. What really sets TDC apart is the level of respect the teachers model and expect from the students—it creates such a positive and supportive environment. She’s formed wonderful friendships with her fellow dancers and genuinely looks forward to every class. The owner and staff go above and beyond, especially when it comes to the beautiful recitals each season. Those performances truly showcase the hard work, talent, and progress of both students and teachers. We’re excited to continue our journey with TDC and can’t wait to see how the studio continues to grow!

May 08, 2025 · Natalie SosaI debated writing a review here, however I feel there are parents out there who need to be aware prior to signing their kids up here. I was so excited to take my 2 year old daughter here for classes , especially because they came highly recommended from many friends. My 2 year is very active. She is busy and she has a lot of energy! The first class we brought her to she was so excited, we couldn’t get her to calm down long enough to participate. She ran circles in the class, so my husband and I decided it was best to leave after 15 minutes. However, during the 15 minutes we were there, she ran around in circles while the other kids participated in the exercises. My husband and I did all we could, but she was very excited and wanted to be a 2 year old who just ran, but the instructors were extremely judgmental of her. So much so, that I was anxious to even bring her back the following week. I did decided to bring her back the next week, and this time around she actually participated in the circle and exercises for at least 10 minutes. To me, this was a huge step and an improvement from the prior week. However, the instructors thought otherwise and they were very vocal about it. To have a grown adult shame a 2 year old and their parents is truly disheartening. At one point the main instructor openly discussed how dangerous she thought it was to have my daughter in the class, simply because she got on the mat at the same time another girl was on the mat. She wasn’t running, she wasn’t even touching the other little girl. She was just a 2 year old who got excited to try something new. A 2 year old who is still learning to understand we have to wait our turns! Shame on these instructors for potentially harming a child emotionally and not knowing the repercussion it may cause in the long run. I highly advise that if you are not capable of working with ALL types of children, then don’t work with any at all! I won’t be bringing my daughter back here, nor will I ever recommend them. Knowing this is how they treat 2 year olds, is not a place I would potentially want my teenager at either. The emotional trauma these judgements and words create is life long and can truly affect a child’s growth and development. I will find a dance class that is better suited with patience and understanding.
Jul 11, 2024 · Jennan ThackerWe love The Dance Company of Ocala! They have taught my daughter so much more than just dance. They have taught her the importance of hard work and perseverance. Dance has given her confidence that she takes with her in everything else that she does. The teachers push and challenge her to be her very best, but are also so encouraging, loving, and kind. They truly care about each of the dancers and their families. I don't ever walk in there where I am not greeted by name. It is truly a family at TDC!
