The Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts Reviews
What a great venue to host performances and theatre. It’s cozy… not too big… not too small. Just right. The staff was extremely professional and friendly. You can tell the staff was well trained and got the job done.It was a little warm and wished it was a little cooler but I run a little hot. Seats were clean and carpet well vacuumed. The sound system was excellent and no cheap theater smell.Overall a very classy place without being pretentious. Would certainly go to another performance here.
Sep 24, 2023 · Car LifeVery beautiful venue, well staffed and much more intimate than your typical theater. The chairs are smaller and closer than other theaters. The lobby has a bar and is pretty small. Parking is not easy - come early and plan to spend $15-20. The parking at Embassy Suites hotel is probably your best bet. Overall, a neat experience and worth a visit!
Mar 02, 2018 · Jason ChristensonI absolutely love the Cowles Center and the performances I have attended there, including last night’s performance of Cabarave! Although this is year marks the sixth performance of Cabarave, this is my first time attending! It is an amazing show with varied types of performances and even some audience participation! There was fire, tap dance, silks, arielists, hip hop, rap, pole dancing, performance art and much much more! There was even performances in the lobby at the act breaks! The price point for the Cowles Center is always amazing! The tickets last night were $35 for a full two hour show! I will definitely be returning time and time again!
Mar 19, 2023 · Tami Reed05/24/2019Quite an enjoyable experience in the Tek Box seeing "It’s All Real. It’s All Fake. It’s All DaNCEBUMS," performed by DaNCEBUMS. Very comfortable seats with a great stage makes for superior performance viewing. Highly recommended for exceptional dance performances!
May 27, 2019 · Brian WeneI have only been too a performance here once, but my experience was great. Parking is the usual for downtown events, but super close to rail for a savvy visitor! The reception area is pleasant, contemporary, and lit with the ambiance of the bustling street contrasting the lobby chic. Reception personnel were engaging, hosts were very knowledgeable and helpful. Theater was nice, classic feel, good acoustics, lighting, etc. But fyi-seats are paired, meaning, if you got 3 seats, there would be a gap between 2 of you (out of you are a couple, u may be split--but it seemed everyone was great about shuffling)The performance was phenomenal, but I can't judge to center based on the "show" other than to presume a center that chooses its events of a certain caliber would be a reflection on the center. The performance was entertaining, beautiful, sad, but most critically it was unique, raw, inspiring, relevant, and poignant. This first impression is a very positive reflection on the arts here.
