Snellville Performing Arts & Main Street Theatre Introduce
For anyone in Georgia with a passion for the stage, or for parents seeking a nurturing environment for their aspiring young performers, Snellville Performing Arts & Main Street Theatre (SPA) stands out as a true gem in the heart of Snellville. This isn't just another theater; it's a vibrant, inclusive community where artistic dreams are nurtured, talents are honed, and genuine connections are forged. From the moment you encounter SPA, it becomes clear why so many local families consider it their go-to destination for all things performing arts.
One of the most compelling aspects of SPA, consistently highlighted by their enthusiastic patrons, is the remarkably welcoming atmosphere. As one reviewer eloquently put it, "SPA is genuinely the most welcoming community theater in the entire world, probably." This sentiment speaks volumes about the ethos cultivated by the dedicated team, particularly directors Stephanie and Alyssa. Their profound care for their students shines through in every class, rehearsal, and performance, creating an environment where young artists feel respected and valued.
What truly sets Snellville Performing Arts & Main Street Theatre apart is the unique approach to mentorship and community building. The directors and adult staff are praised for treating younger participants "with just as much respect as they do other adults." This level of egalitarianism fosters a sense of belonging and empowers students to embrace their creativity without inhibition. This isn't just about learning lines or steps; it's about developing confidence, cultivating teamwork, and building a positive self-image – skills that extend far beyond the footlights.
The sense of camaraderie extends to the students themselves. Reviewers consistently note the kindness and support among the children, creating a true family dynamic within the theater. This is particularly evident in moments of challenge, such as when a student, despite being part of a production's process for months, couldn't perform in the final show, yet was "pulled in with loving arms" by their peers and staff. This demonstrates the deep-seated community spirit that permeates every aspect of SPA, making it a safe and encouraging space for artistic expression and personal growth.
Beyond the nurturing environment, the quality of productions at Snellville Performing Arts & Main Street Theatre is simply outstanding. Patrons are consistently amazed by the caliber of performances, with one exclaiming, "when it comes to the shows no one does it better than SPA." The ability of the actors to make audiences "forget that the actors aren't professional" speaks volumes about the dedication, talent, and rigorous training that takes place at the studio. Whether it’s a beloved classic or a contemporary hit like "Hadestown," SPA delivers awe-inspiring theatrical experiences right here in Snellville.
And for those who might worry about the exclusivity often associated with performing arts, SPA offers a refreshing perspective. The idea that "only certain people are casted and only the best of the best get to be in shows" is firmly debunked by their inclusive casting philosophy: "Almost everyone who auditions gets in." This open-door policy ensures that more local aspiring performers have the opportunity to participate, learn, and grow, truly embodying the spirit of a community theater dedicated to fostering talent across the board.
Ultimately, Snellville Performing Arts & Main Street Theatre is more than just a place to learn acting, singing, or dancing. It's a transformative experience that builds character, instills discipline, and creates lasting friendships. For any Georgian considering dipping their toes into the world of theater, or for seasoned performers looking for a supportive artistic home, SPA is undoubtedly "the place to get your theater bug itched."

Snellville Performing Arts & Main Street Theatre Reviews
Idk why haven’t made a review yet because I’ve been coming here since spring of 2022 but anyway…SPA is genuinely the most welcoming community theater in the entire world, probably. The directors, Stephanie and Alyssa, care about their students so much and it truly shows on the stage. They and all the other adults don’t act like they are better than us kids just because they are older— they treat us with just as much respect as they do other adults. Also, the other kids there are just so kind and supportive. When I was not able to be in their last production despite being a part of the process for months, they still pulled me in with loving arms when I came and saw the show. If you are on the fence about coming here or sending your kid here, please come!!! You will be just as loved as I am and feel it in everything you do.And yall— when it comes to the shows no one does it better than spa. Getting to be in the audience of Hadestown was awe-inspiring. You forget that the actors aren’t professional. And apparently people think that only certain people are casted and only the best of the best get to be in shows but no; we are all just that good (lol). Almost everyone who auditions gets in.Anyway I’m done yapping. If you’re looking for a place to get your theater big itched, this is it
May 12, 2025 · Maddie G.We discovered SPA several years ago when looking for a summer camp for our son. Stephanie and the amazing volunteers made him feel welcome, and provided a safe place for him to express himself. The dedication of the staff and crew brings out the best in each child, and teaches them skills that go beyond just the stage. Our son has made friends and developed a positive self image of himself.
May 09, 2025 · Jarred OpstadMy daughter loves being a part of the SPA family! The theatre transforms their space beautifully for each production and clearly values each of their cast members. My daughter has taken part of classes as well as their junior company productions.
