The studio is designed to be a trauma-informed space, meaning their instructors lead with care, awareness, and a complete absence of "toxic fitness language." Their focus isn't just on physical postures but on connecting to the deeper spiritual and historical roots of practices like yoga. You can expect classes rooted in the 8 Limbs of Yoga and Yogic Philosophy, incorporating elements like mantra, mudras, asana, pranayama, and meditation. This holistic approach ensures that while you build physical strength and flexibility, you also cultivate awareness, peace, compassion, and balance.
Whether you're looking to enhance your physical vitality, achieve mental tranquility, or foster spiritual growth, Sweet Water Dance & Yoga provides a safe and inspiring container for your journey. Their commitment to offering powerful, comprehensive, and affordable weekly classes ensures that quality wellness is a right, not a luxury, for the Bronx community. Sweet Water Dance & Yoga Reviews
Love love LOVE this studio. The instructors are wonderful. I've invited friends to classes regardless of their experience level, that's how welcoming, inclusive and accessible their classes are. I look forward to these classes and feel the difference whenever I miss them. Eric's flexibility class will change your life -- or at least make you feel like you have a new, more flexible body:)
Jun 04, 2025 · Kadia TubmanThe space was so inviting. Eric is the masculine energy we needed in the space. This event/ceremony is just what I needed to close out the year. Marines’ sound healing always brings me home to me. Marines creates a truly safe space. I loved the way everything was structured. Yes to more of this!!
Dec 23, 2024 · Phylicia VegaThis class was such a blessing for us to have our daughter attend. Not only was it affordable, with their option to pay monthly, but it allowed our daughter to explore different genres of dance and music- prompting her to learn how to express herself to sound. She'd come home excited to show us moves she'd learned and she was ecstatic for her class recital. These were firsts for our daughter, and we credit Sweet Water for having the grit and wherewithal to create this space for the children who find that dancing is akin to breathing. Thank you
May 17, 2025 · Jashara Mendoza (RobotJim)This was my first ever work out class. I was A little nervous. But Genesis really eased my nerves in the way she leads a class. She’s very encouraging. She offers variations of the moves so no matter your level you don’t feel left behind. The studio has a great atmosphere and I cannot wait to take more classes.
