Sacramento Ballet Reviews
These were the words I heard from director Laico: "She's not good for ballet, she puts her daughter to learn football, because she'll never study here again...there's no clinic for treatment here, her daughter came limping into the performance, like that oh !"and he imitated how she was walking at the presentation, in the room next to the reception, where he was talking to me. There , on the moment, was no class movement in the corridors. It was simply horrible. I felt the discrimination firsthand. How after 6 years, do they treat a child this way?She had had knee surgery, and the doctor allowed her to do ballet after some recovery time, but sometimes she had pain.I asked the director Laico, if she could participate in the show on a weekday, and he friendly said : yes.But after the holidays, I went to reorganize myself to enroll, and Sara told me that she needed to do class 2 again.I tried to find out in person, Sara shouted at me at reception, justifying that she would not be able to participate in the school, and if she wanted to participate, she would never go to class 3, soon after she declared: "you embarrass me".I asked to speak to the Laico, Director, to find out exactly what was happening, I wanted to know more details, when I was attacked with these words: "your daughter will never study here again, why don't you put her in football? She has no conditions to be a ballet student here, because this is a serious academy, and please: Get out!He opened the door for me to go.The next day I returned, and a few hours ago I had given my opinion in the review. He paid attention to me and asked me to take it off, and I, at the same time, promised to take it off if he paid attention to the case, or at the most talked to the student, my daughter, as a teacher and director. Even though she was in pain, she wanted to participate with her class friends who had known each other for a long time!At the very least, she would have to receive a polite approach: Manu, how was your recovery?! Congratulations on participating, you will need to take class two because you are on medical leave..., you know, as a civilized teacher. That never happened, so here is my review.
Jan 31, 2024 · Israele FerreiraThe staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The instructors are amazing and seem to encourage their students progress. From the words of my dancer, "Mr. And Mrs. Rhodes give so much and are great teachers, Ms. Bella inspires and motivates, Ms. Alexa encourages the student to focus on muscles and technique, and Ms. Genevieve really cares about the students." The quality of the performances, like Nutcracker, really shows off the students abilities and has been a great opportunity for them to experience being on stage.
Aug 08, 2024 · Chennea RussellWent to see the Sacramento Nutcracker this past Friday. I had invited a friend from the Bay Area. As a Sacramento native it’s embarrassing to say, but this was the absolute worst rendition of The Nutcracker I have seen in my life. And I’ve seen the Nutcracker almost every year for the last 50yrs; in Oakland, in San Francisco, in Atlanta, in Los Angeles, Richmond, VA, New York City. The lack of diversity on stage in the Sacramento Ballet’s rendition is appalling.
Dec 24, 2024 · Kenna ToneySac Ballet has an incredible training program, which focuses on and develops technique, as well as artistry and a successful mindset. All of the staff, from the director, to the teachers, to anyone you encounter at the Front Desk, are approachable and helpful. They have a robust boys program, which is a delight to see. Anyone with a boy ages 8-18 should inquire about their generous scholarship program. In addition to ballet, dancers also have the opportunity to participate in contemporary, modern, and hip hop style classes. The performances are well organized and you can see the progression of levels from beginning to pre-professional dancers. We had a very positive experience with their program and highly recommend it!
Jul 30, 2024 · Michelle Fox SullensGoing for The Nutcracker has become a tradition. Year after year it doesn't disappoint! If you've never been and are waffling, just go you wont regret it. It's worth paying extra for the closer seats in my opinion, but I'm sure any seat will do! I've been lucky to get good opening night seats every yr I've went.=>)Live orchestra, and they're incredible!
