For over 38 years, **Rising Stars School of Dance** has been a cherished institution in the New Jersey dance community, particularly for families in Englishtown and the surrounding areas. More than just a dance studio, it has cultivated a reputation as a second home where students not only learn the art of dance but also develop invaluable life skills such, as discipline, dedication, teamwork, patience, good work ethic, respect, and kindness. Customer experiences at Rising Stars School of Dance reflect a mixed sentiment, offering different perspectives for prospective students. One highly positive review highlights the deep impact the studio has had: "My daughter Harper has been dancing here since she was 2 years old and I could not ask for a better dance studio. She has learned so many new skills while making amazing long lasting friendships. Words would not do any of these teachers justice but their compassion and love for the kids they teach are amazing. Miss. Amy, Miss. Lindsay, Miss. Caitlin, Miss. Kate, Miss. Amanda, and Miss. Joelle thank you so much for helping Harper to become a beautiful dancer and welcoming us into your Rising Stars Family." This testimonial speaks to the strong family atmosphere and the dedication of the teaching staff.
However, another review expresses significant disappointment: "This may be one of the most unpleasant experiences in NJ. They do not focus at all on teaching any skills or develop anything around dance. The only focus is monopolizing and profiting at every step. Make up kits, unrealistic expectations of how kids are supposed to look, and overall very unprofessional. Way better options around. Save your time and your money." This contrasting feedback suggests that while many find a supportive and developmental environment, others have had experiences focusing on financial aspects and perceived lack of skill development. It is recommended that prospective families visit and speak directly with the staff to assess if the studio aligns with their specific expectations.

May 20, 2024 · R NFTheir policy is to belittle, humiliate a single mother infront of her two little girls at State Theatre in front of everyone. The owner Jodi could not even talk to me face to face like a human being and “has been burned before.” I have been burned many times in my life; I still have compassion and understanding for others. I am single mother with zero help from anyone else, who is also a teacher, struggling to make ends meet and trying to make a better life for my daughters. ZERO COMPASSION OR UNDERSTANDING for an unpaid balance of dance class tuition, denying my daughters that could dance in the recital after already paying for their all their costumes, months of tuition and TICKETS. I paid upfront for tickets I not allowed to receive or attend because of their policy. Unpaid tuition, no tickets…even though I already paid for the tickets!!! They couldn’t wait five days until my next paycheck for their money. My 9 and 4 are deeply hurt and crushed after all their hard work and practicing that they can’t attend their own recital. They were denying us to attend the rehearsal after giving them $200 in cash!!! I was not walking away or taking no for an answer. In a condescending voice from Gina after finally allowing us to go into the rehearsal, “you better take all your videos and photos today since you can’t come tomorrow.” UNREAL!!! WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS SCHOOL!!! I am so utterly disgusted and devastated for my two daughters!!!
May 28, 2022 · Lauren GarciaOne of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in my life. The recital, while held at The State Theater, which of course is so fun to see your child perform on such a prestigious stage, was a disaster. We told told to pick our 2 year olds up from the Green Room following their performance and watch the remainder of the show with them on our laps, until the finale. When we went to pick them up, we were not allowed back in! The rest of our families were sitting inside watching the show in seats that we purchased, and we were told that the oarent and dance student were not allowed back in! When security called the Rising Stars management to find out if we should be let back in, security was told No! This was the entire 2 year old class!Following this experience I did re-enroll my daughter since the location to the house is very close and my daughter enjoyed the class. After enrolling her online, because I was told that I could not enroll in person but could only do it online, and paying by credit card is an additional 3% over check, I was planning to bring my check on the first day of class. They sent me an email the Saturday night before the Monday class telling me that if I didn’t remit payment within 24 hours my child would be dropped from the class. This was the first correspondence I received from them following my daughter’s enrollment. In addition I had several other very negative customer services with them that I’m not even going into here.I sent the a response email telling them in no uncertain terms that their customer service is very poor. Now, after my daughter attended the first class of this session, I get a call from the owner telling that my email was hateful, which it was not, but it was very direct, and that they want to refund my money and remove my daughter from the class. This is a wonderful way to treat children. My problem with their customer service becomes my 3 year old’s problem. Instead of addressing their customer service issues, they drop my 3 year old from her dance class. In my humble opinion the co-owner Jodi and Rising Stars management should be ashamed of the studio’s behavior in what they consider acceptable treatment of their paying customers and their child students. Out of 5 children in the 2 year old class, 2 took their families’ business elsewhere and my daughter was dropped. But the problem is mine, not theirs? I’m hateful but their customer service is not extremely poor? Ok.
Jul 16, 2018 · Felicia FreibergMy daughter has been dancing at rising since the age of 3. She is now 11 and has grown into a beautiful dancer. I can't thank all the teachers, staff and director's for all their hard work and dedication. By far the best dance school. Thank you Rising Stars. #RSFAM❤️
