Jul 20, 2017 · Diane TannerNew Paltz School of Ballet is my daughter's home away from home and I wouldn't have it any other way. My daughter started at age 3 and has been dancing there for 11 years. Artistic directors Peter and Lisa Neumann have dedicated their lives to nurturing young dancers in proper and safe ballet technique. Former NYC ballet dancers that were students under the great George Balanchine, the Naumann's can offer dancers in the Hudson Valley what no other dance school can. In addition, remarkable performances and guest artists make the year even more exciting for the dedicated young dancers who call NPSB their home as well.
Jul 21, 2017 · Jane Hernandez TeachWe have been a part of the New Paltz School of Ballet family for eight years. I refer to us as part of a family at the school because the owners,Lisa and Peter, and the other exemplary instructors have been involved in helping my husband and I to raise focused, grounded, well-rounded, children. Our kids self-esteem has benefited from their lessons and the stage work they have done for The Nutcracker and recitals.(Speaking of The Nutcracker and recitals...the shows are nothing less than FABULOUS! Before we were at this school I thought "Oh, The Nutcracker. Been there, no thanks!" Now that I have seen the show the New Paltz Ballet Theatre puts on, at The Bardavon every year, I can HONESTLY say there is NOTHING THAT COMPARES to it. As Artistic Directors, Lisa and Peter manage to keep the show fresh and interesting for the audience AND the performers. Coppelia, again BEAUTIFUL. The care that goes into the costuming is BANANAS! And listen, I know recitals can be deadly...not when you sit at a New Paltz School of Ballet recital! In the air-conditioned comfort of the Walkill High School auditorium you are treated to performances that leave you proud of your dancer(s) and beautifully entertained by (and proud of) ALL the other dancers! People pay hundreds of dollars and travel hours to see shows of this caliber. I am happy to invite friends and family to the performances, knowing THEY will enjoy themselves too.)But...back to the school... We all love it! I am glad that we found it. I recommend it as THE highest quality ballet school in the Hudson Valley.
Sep 12, 2017 · A Ballet MomWe are about to entoll our fifth dancer in New Paltz School of Ballet, who is also our second boy. Although NPSB is definitely where you would want your dancer if he or she has dreams of dancing professionally, it's a wonderful experience for any young person and excellent preparation for sports, public speaking and fitness. Lisa and Peter have very high standards - which is what drew our family - but they cater to anyone interested in ballet. Plus they run a stunning and super professional Nutcracker and end of year performance.
Jul 28, 2017 · Jennifer ZaborowskiI grew up dancing ballet instructed by a NYC ballet dancer, who instilled discipline and persistence yet who cared about his dancers who were like his children. It was important to me to find the same values for my daughter when I was looking for a ballet school. I have found that same NYC ballet style instruction at this gem of NPSB. My 4 year old daughter loves going to her class each week, making friends, and loved performing in her recital. She also loved the opportunity to watch her class helpers in the Nutcracker and can't wait to be a part of it one day.
