The National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics offers a range of specifically designed programs tailored for preschool-aged children, focusing on foundational movement skills, physical development, and social-emotional growth.
Gyminicricket University (Ages 2-6): This comprehensive program serves preschoolers from walking age up to six years old. It encompasses several sub-classes designed to match different developmental stages and skill levels, ensuring that each child receives appropriate instruction and challenges.
WIGGLE WORMS: ZERO TO HEROES (Parent/Child Class): Specifically for boys and girls from walking age up to 3 years. This class emphasizes parent-child interaction while introducing key concepts such as taking turns, sharing, listening, and following directions. Through obstacle courses and fun activities, children develop motor skills, social-emotional growth, and begin to explore movement in a structured yet playful setting. This class helps build a foundation for more independent learning.
GYMBUGS: It's all me! I'm 3!: Designed for three-year-olds who are ready to engage more independently. This program introduces physical activities that engage imagination while developing motor strength, coordination, and the fundamentals of gymnastics. Children in this class learn how to stay with a group, follow directions, and develop a sense of independence.
GYMINICRICKETS: I'm 4! And Ready for more / Coming alive at 5!: These classes focus on continuous growth in movement fundamentals for four and five-year-olds. They offer more opportunities to develop coordination, strength, spatial awareness, and body control. Children begin to understand multi-step instructions and learn more advanced progressions and skills, including basic gymnastics elements like handstands, cartwheels, rolls, bridges, and pullovers. The goal is to create excitement for trying new things.
FIREFLYS / MIGHTY MIGHTS (Intermediate & Advanced Preschool Classes): These are invitation-only classes for girls and boys who have demonstrated readiness for more advanced preschool gymnastics training, providing a pathway for continued skill development within the preschool age range.
Open Gym Times for Preschool Ages: The Academy offers dedicated open gym sessions for preschool-aged children (walking to 5 years old). These sessions provide a less structured environment for children to explore the gym equipment, practice skills, and simply have fun. An adult must accompany children, with a maximum of two children per adult. These are popular for casual play and exploration.
The National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics provides a truly unique and beneficial experience for preschool-aged children, marked by several key features and highlights.

Parents frequently commend the staff for being "amazing," "really passionate about what they do," and genuinely "care about the kids in their classes." This nurturing approach fosters a positive learning environment where children feel encouraged and supported, which is crucial for early development.

These are not just gymnastics skills but crucial components for overall physical fitness and coordination that benefit children for a lifetime.
Focus on Social and Emotional Growth: Beyond physical development, classes emphasize critical social skills such as taking turns, sharing, listening, and following directions within a group. This holistic approach prepares children for successful experiences in school and other social settings, contributing to longer attention spans and improved communication skills.

National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics Reviews
We have been sending our girls here for the last few years and can’t recommend it enough. In addition to learning gymnastics in a positive environment the coaches are amazing. You can tell that they are really passionate about what they do and care about the kids in their classes. The coaches who teach and own it are amazing!
Feb 29, 2024 · Adam WoldtOct 2024 update:After changing my review because of an issue, they immediately responded and solved the issue. Love that they listen!Editing review from 5 stars to 3 stars.I've been going to both Tuesday & Thursday open gyms for preschool ages. Every time a bigger 7+ year old class is in the gym at the same time and it is completely unsafe. This time takes the cake when kids are running back and fourth during a game and my 1.5yr old son can't safely cross the gym to play. This is so unacceptable. I'm very frustrated that I'm paying for open gym that they're very strict is only for preschool ages, yet I'm having to keep my child from crossing the gym for fear of him getting hurt after a bigger kid already tried stepping on the hula hoop he was playing with and almost hurting him. Very upset with this dynamic. I love coming here and now I'm considering not coming anymore.Absolutely love this place! My son is 1.5yrs and he has so much fun! Instructors are awesome! We go to the open gym times, trialed a wiggle worm class and he just wasn't quite ready for all the stretching and prep beforehand, but we'll be doing those when he gets a little bit more understanding of what's going on! Great facility, clean, child proofed really well!
Oct 22, 2024 · Kelly SibertI have a kid in the Wiggle Worm program. Everything about the class is fantastic, but the kids trampoline area desperately needs stairs or a ramp. The area is roughly 3.5 feet above ground level and the only way to get up or down is via squishy spotting blocks. If you pick the wrong one while getting off you can be set completely off balance as you sink and injure yourself.
Feb 11, 2023 · Josh ColeWe did a trial class and then enrolled in a morning Gymbug class for our three year old. When we did the trial, the class was combined with a toddler parent & me class, which was extremely chaotic. Our three year old was basically being pushed out of the way by all the parents, and spent majority of the class waiting around as the littles did their group with no assistance from the coach. When I asked about this, I was told the Gymbug class was small so they combined it, but that they could split it like it's actually intended to be, since we wanted a more independent and age appropriate class. Upon that confirmation and promise that they would run the classes as intended, we enrolled. After only one week, we showed up and the class was combined again - and the girl said that "a coach just didn't show up this morning" (david) so there was nothing they could do. Again, a very large baby class with all the parents so the three older kids were shoved aside until the coach finally showed up and my husband helped him. There was no real assistance with the Gymbugs and the class was extremely disorganized leaving the kids to basically have free play all over, as the toddler parents were also in all of the areas with the littles. (no hate on that, the parent and me class is it's own great thing that should be aside from older kids) I got a refund and we have since explored other gyms, but it was super disappointing after going through the enrollment, being assured classes are legit and that we wouldn't have to have our child fight off parents to do activities, and then being told sorry, what can we do. I am not sure if there is a lack of care or lack of coaches, but we were pretty bummed with our experience.
Oct 17, 2024 · Meg H.We have been going to NAAG for 3 years now and have absolutely loved it! The coaches are kind, attentive and make classes super fun! One of my daughters is very outgoing and the other much more shy and timid… both have grown and excelled during their time here! The coaches give individualized attention and really do care about their students! I also have a little guy who just turned 15 months… while some places can become annoyed with the energy littles bring…the staff at this gym are extremely family oriented and welcoming! I truly appreciate how caring they are and the relationships they build with their students/parents!
