Grand Central Academy of Performing Arts, Dance, Musical Theatre & Acrobatics for Kids & Adults Reviews
If you are looking for a progressive, well rounded, supportive and super fun dance environment, LOOK NO FURTHER than GCAPA!I have had the distinct privilege of guest teaching and adjudicating pre-competition performances at Grand Central Academy of Performing Arts over the past several years. It is one of my favorite dance education centers in which I love to spend time teaching! I cannot say enough about this studio. Just walking into the studio is amazing to me!Students who attend GCAPA, whether recreational dancers or competitive dancers are well rounded and well educated, from the tiniest dancer on up. They learn all aspects of dance from proper technique, class and stage etiquette, proper terminology and so much more. They are so supportive of each other and earn high praises from their teachers regularly.Students receive exemplary instruction through the GCAPAcurriculum which uniquely offers students the opportunity to individually progress, as well as to gain confidence and success and pride in themselves and their performance in ballet, jazz, lyrical and more.BUT I MUST TELL YOU the special added bonuses of the outstanding tap, musical theater and acrobatics programs are exemplary and something I do not get to experience often in other studios. If you are looking for an outstanding tap program, THIS IS YOUR STUDIO! This program is comprehensive, offering several levels of instruction while exposing students to diverse styles of tap. Wendy is one of the best tap instructors I know!GCAPA’s musical theater program is one of the best! It is truly a gem in my book, and I am thrilled it is an offered program at GCAPA! Many studios do not offer a Musical Theater option. Students learn to express themselves creatively, become analytical, improve dance performance and grow an appreciation for the arts through the curriculum offered here. They learn to think on their feet.My specialty is as an acrobatics instructor so I am always impressed by the hard work that these acro dancers show in my classes. I always see great progress in their skills, strength and flexibility each time I teach at GCAPA and I always look forward to my time spent with them! The acrobatics program here is absolutely 5 Star too.KUDOS to the GCAPA staff for preparing such well rounded, educated students.A BIG THANK YOU TO MISS WENDY FOR ALLOWING ME TO BE PART OF THE GCAPA FAMILY!
Jun 26, 2025 · Alison RubanoMy daughter just finished her third year at GCAPA and I could not be more happy, grateful, and honored to be a part of this studio. I have seen the growth in her technique across all genres but most of all, her overall attitude. She has become more open to constructive criticism, more self-aware of her strengths and weaknesses, and learning to embrace the journey. GCAPA has been an important part of her individual growth so I have to thank them tremendously for making such an impact. Studio owner, Wendi Bergstrom, has a vision. I am always in awe of the outcome of the performances, costumes, and creativity. It is all encompassing. She has built a team which exudes passion, fervor, and positivity, which pours into their dancers. Her studio is not just a place to learn dance. You are part of a cohesive community where you are always celebrated and supported. It brings me much comfort to know my daughter is part of a studio that teaches her life skills she can take anywhere. All I can say is…hang in there and trust her process! Thank you Wendi and your GCAPA Crew for all you do day in and day out.

Jun 12, 2025 · Kevin CoughlinMy 11 yr old started dancing at GCAPA over the summer. She had no experience but knew she wanted to try it. At first she was hesitant since most have been dancing as toddlers. From the get go, Miss Wendi and her team of brilliant and talented teachers, reassured her, you are never too late to start. Everyone genuinely cares about the success and happiness of each dancer. My daughter comes home very happy and can not wait to show us what she learned. Since starting she has gained so much confidence not only as a dancer but in herself. I highly recommend GCAPA! If you are looking for a quality dance studio that teaches to all levels, look no further. You will not be disappointed.
