The true essence of DanceSport Boston is perhaps best captured through the words of its many satisfied students. One couple, who switched to DanceSport Boston after 15 months at another studio, enthusiastically shared, "We are SO happy that we made the switch. John Paul and Anna Maria are the best teachers who truly care about their students (and not just about the money!)." This heartfelt testimonial highlights a core philosophy of the studio: prioritizing student growth and satisfaction over mere transactions. This couple's journey from private lessons and group classes to performing a choreographed formation cha-cha in a holiday show perfectly illustrates the supportive and progressive learning environment provided. They also noted the welcoming atmosphere, stating, "We quickly bonded with the other students in the formation as well as with other students in the group classes. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly there."
A particularly compelling feature, as recounted by this same couple, is that "the teachers don't hold back when you're ready to learn more - in fact, they encourage it!" This speaks to the studio's commitment to continuous development, pushing students to reach their full potential while ensuring the process remains enjoyable and rewarding. The sheer joy experienced by participants is palpable, with one recalling the holiday show as "one of the best nights of my life - I had a smile on my face the entire time and couldn't wait until our next dance class!" This inclusive policy extends to their bi-weekly Friday night social dances, which serve as a fantastic opportunity for practice and connection within the Massachusetts dance community.
The studio's expertise also extends to specialized needs, as demonstrated by another happy customer who worked with John Paul to choreograph a "mother and son dance" for a special occasion. DanceSport Boston Dance Studio Reviews
My husband and I joined Dancesport Boston after going to another studio for 15 months. We are SO happy that we made the switch. John Paul and Anna Maria are the best teachers who truly care about their students (and not just about the money!). We have taken private lessons with John, did group classes with both Anna Maria and Ferdinand, and most recently performed at a holiday show with 3 other couples in a formation cha-cha dance choreographed by Anna Maria. We quickly bonded with the other students in the formation as well as with other students in the group classes. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly there and the best part is that the teachers don't hold back when you're ready to learn more - in fact, they encourage it! Whether you want to learn ballroom dancing or if you already have some experience, I cannot recommend this place enough; you will not be disappointed, and you will even make some new friends with the same interests. I also want to say that the recent holiday show that we attended and performed at was one of the best nights of my life - I had a smile on my face the entire time and couldn't wait until our next dance class! And if you don't have a dance partner, don't worry - EVERYONE gets to dance with a partner so come join us at the studio and on the dance floor at their biweekly Friday night social dances. Your only regret will be not starting sooner!!
Dec 19, 2024 · Lorna FargoJohn paul did an amazing job choreographing a mother and son dance for my son and me. John Paul is an amazing teacher and choreographer And I highly recommend DanceSport Boston! We could not be more happy with the amazing dance that we learned only after three lessons.
Sep 13, 2022 · Susan KeaneI love going to DanceSport Boston. They are like family to me. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. The lessons are reasonable, and the teachers are outstanding. They really break down the dance so you can understand it. Some of the students compete at ballroom competitions. They teach and talk about both American and International style of dance. DanceSport Boston won "best of south shore" for ballroom. I can't say enough about this studio. They are the best!
Jun 11, 2024 · Ellen RJohn and Anna Maria are fantastic teachers and people. My Fiancé and I did not really know how to dance, but when we came to John and Anna Maria with a song, they helped us pick the perfect dance that went with it.They are both super patient and helpful throughout the lessons, either private or in a group setting. I would and have recommended these two to all of our friends! If you are ever looking to learn how to dance or have an event where you want to dance to a specific song, then I highly recommend DanceSport Boston!
Jul 25, 2024 · NicholasI've been a student at DanceSport Boston for nine years now and I can't say enough about the owners / instructors and their teaching - just great! Over the years I've taken mostly group lessons and a couple of privates. If you thought about taking dance but a little intimidated you should really give it a try. The confidence, the exercise and the joy of movement you experience is well worth it. It is a wonderful sport that you can enjoy throughout your life. And last but not least, it opens up a world of new and lasting friendships!
