Acton School of Ballet Reviews
Acton School of Ballet was a great experience for my dancer. The staff was organized and professional. The positive environment and personal instruction were just what my daughter needed to grow and improve as a dancer. My dancer loved and benefited from the numerous opportunities she had to perform with the ASB studio and in larger productions like Commonwealth Ballet's Nutcracker too. Acton School of Ballet and Ms. Moncrieff provided my daughter with the skills, foundation and confidence she needed to pursue her love of ballet through high school and beyond.
Apr 18, 2024 · Jean MunizAs a now professional dancer who trained for 14 years at ASB, I can confidently express how incredible not only the training, but the community, faculty, and environment is. I still work with ASB because of how much I have adored my experience there & I maintain close mentorships with many of my former teachers who I know without a doubt I can go to for advice, help, or just to talk. Each and every member of the ASB team cares deeply about their craft but also about the overall wellbeing and development of their students. The ballet world can unfortunately be extremely harsh and unwelcoming, that is absolutely not the case at ASB and they are always looking to grow and improve. The studio has and always will be a safe space for me to feel fully myself, grow my confidence, express my artistry, and improve my dancing. I wouldn't be the person I am today without ASB.
Oct 24, 2024 · Bronwyn SmithActon School of Ballet has incredible ballet instructors, and a very professional philosophy. They go above and beyond to teach all aspects of performance, to teach children to dance with emotion and excellent technique, and my child received individual attention from all her teachers to help her improve. Very impressive productions and knowledgeable, experienced, talented and kind staff!
Mar 25, 2024 · Katherine GetchellI do not think I can fully explain the extent to which Acton School of Ballet has impacted my life. I trained at ASB from age 5 to 18, and I am so grateful for each and every year. I think that what is so unique about ASB is the individualized training students receive in addition to the personal teacher-student connections. What has always stood out to me is the passion each teacher brings to class and the desire to help their students grow. At ASB, I always felt like I had a whole team of people there for me, rooting for me, and pushing me forward holistically as a dancer. Among the faculty at ASB, there are so many different backgrounds and experiences in the ballet world - students have a wide range of perspectives to learn from, resulting in versatile and well rounded dancers. In addition to the remarkable training offered, ASB provides a sense of community to each student. Throughout my time at the school, I always felt like ASB was my second home, my second family - a place where I was truly supported and loved. I learned not only how to be a better dancer but a better human as well. I learned the importance of respect, hard work, and kindness to myself and to others. As I am approaching dancing professionally, I see the importance of these qualities in the studio and on stage. As a dancer, and as a person as well, I feel that ASB fully prepared me for my post graduate life. I am so thrilled to continue towards my dream of dancing professionally - a dream that was nurtured and made into reality by ASB and the wonderful people there.
Sep 29, 2024 · Nahia SdVWI’m so pleased with this school and my kids have gone here since pre-school. Lindsay Moncrieff took over as the school director in 2018. She has added a Pre-Professional program giving students even more opportunities to learn and excel. Given the caliber of the teachers and ballet education this is a non competitive, supportive environment and students make lifelong friends here. They are affiliated with Commonwealth Ballet Company and students as young as nine get to audition for roles in a yearly very professional Nutcracker production. Honestly I can’t say enough good things about the school and what ballet has done for my kids. I believe that the memorization of the dances helps with school, they have to juggle homework and practicing (especially as they get older) and they have great self esteem. Thanks for providing such a positive environment for my dancers to grow up in!
