Studio D School of Dance Reviews
We do not hate this studio, but it was not at all what we were looking for. First and most important for us, was the fact that I had no idea what my child was learning. There are three studios but none of them have windows and the doors must remain shut because of the noise from the lobby. The only time I was able to watch my daughter was when I stood in the tiny hallway and peaked through a broken blind in the window, or when I specifically asked the instructor to leave the door cracked open for me to see.My second issue was with the building maintenance. The building is very old, and is in the historic part of downtown Griffin, so I understand some things will be old or difficult to get permitted, but the floor in the hallway is literally falling apart and the door handles of both bathrooms are broken so that they do not lock. This is a very big issue when your daughter has a skirt, leotard, tights then underwear. It takes some time to get in and out of that, all while worried that someone will walk in. I would have to stand post to keep others from going in. Then there is just very limited seating and general repairs that are needed to look clean. My last issue is that the price is a bit high for a dance studio of its size. Monthly rates are slightly higher than surrounding studios but then there are a lot of hidden fees, such as recital tickets, costume fees, recital fees etc… And if you choose to leave you must send a handwritten letter to the office and then you may leave after 30 days.Overall, this studio is not the worst place for young people to learn how to dance, but a lack of correcting mistakes on an individual level, the high prices, and the feeling like I have no idea what my daughter does in class has led us to pursue a different studio.
