Great studio with affordable prices especially if you want to enroll in multiple classes. My daughter has become more flexible thanks to tumbling and stronger and more confident thanks to ballet and jazz. Can't wait until Covid is over to showcase the talent more
Jan 06, 2021 · Garreisha DotsonIt took me a while to consider writing this. I thought highly of this studio and the passion that I saw at first. The 3 instructors are very passionate about dance, very talented young ladies. For the year my girls were there, they learned a lot. However, the the owner and instructors do not handle pressure well. When rehearsal prep begins, all professionalism goes out the window. My daughters had class on Saturdays. WE were in attendance 98% of the time, other 2% were excused absences. Never missed rehearsal practices. My oldest daughter was remove from half of one of her dances. My daughter mentioned it to me but because it was never a conversation from the instructors, I didn’t think anything of it. I noticed that the removal was real the day before the show. She was standing behind the curtain for the first half of one of her dances. The next day, before and after the show, I asked why wasn’t I told about the removal. After all, I am the one paying the tuition. I mentioned that if I was told, I could have helped her while we were at home. I was not disrespectful UNTIL they gave me a response of “as a parent, you can’t teach technique” or “it’s not our responsibility to tell you in advance”. Mind you, I’m sitting in the studio every weekend having casual conversations about the girls progress. So, I paid you for a full performance and you removed her from half of it because her foot wasn’t pointed. All I asked for was communication. Now, my youngest daughter was 4 at the time, repeated something that was told to her. The owner yelled at her and she literally cried herself to sleep that night. I was at work so between my other 2 daughters, communication on what exactly happened was not clear. I get onto my children if they are disrespectful but yelling at a 4 year old was totally out of line. Talk about bad experience!! Apparently, they didn’t want to properly explain why my oldest daughter was removed from half of her dance and I didn’t have the opportunity to discuss my youngest being yelled at. We have been blocked on social media and they closed the portal for enrollment and communication. No upset because we were not returning back but the audacity to pretend like you were in the right!! I read over and over, the recital breakdown and not one word was written about removing children from a dance. By the way, my baby was the ONLY one removed. The recital was cute but I couldn’t really enjoy it because I felt like my babies were not treated fairly. My youngest baby use to be excited about ballet, not anymore.
