Step Country Swing & Dance Co. Reviews
My experience with STEP Country Swing was very positive. While on vacation in Nashville I scheduled a 2hr lesson with Rich Rossman with the goal of learning just the basics. We met in a dance studio practice room in a location that was safe and easy to find. Rich is a clear and organized instructor and I recommend him to any dancer looking to get started or would like to progress. I do East Coast and Lindy which are also lead/follow social dances but I started at square one with Country. He teaches a 3 step Nomad swing style that is great fun! During our lesson he shuffled all styles of music to show just how versatile this dance is. Because he broke it all down and led me through it I left the lesson with enough confidence to hit the dance floor. My husband sprained his ankle the day before so he couldn’t join me. As a parting gift, Rich made short videos both of the lead steps and the 3 basic steps to refer to while we practice at home. When a person is new to social dance a few private lesson can help jump start a them and get them on the dance floor faster. And that is what this is all about! Next time in Nashville I will sign up for a class or take another private lesson. Barbie

Rich is a phenomenal instructor—he has that rare mix of skill, clarity, and genuine enthusiasm that makes learning so enjoyable. His partner demonstrations were incredibly impressive and inspiring. What really set this class apart was how Rich expertly broke the moves down into clear, manageable fundamentals and then built them back up into dynamic, stylish combinations. We never felt overwhelmed, just excited to keep going! This class is an absolute gem. We can’t wait to come back!
Jun 25, 2025 · Meghan KaweckiIncredible company with incredible people. These guys really know their stuff and they teach authentic country line and partner. Sherry is one of the most talented and experienced instructors I've learned from, easy to follow and very knowledgeable. The owner, Rich, is also one of the most genuine and high caliber character people I've crossed paths with. These people are dedicated to the art and make it easy and approachable. I also love how they're mobile. They've given me the option of coming to our location or offering a venue from their partners! Step remains to be affordable without sacrificing their quality of instruction. I highly, highly recommend this team.
Dec 10, 2024 · Gess HrycykThe beginner country swing dance class was exactly what I needed! Rich was a fantastic instructor & took plenty of time to explain each move to us. He gave us ample time to practice each move and kept the class focused & on track so we really got the best bang for our buck. I would recommend this beginner class to anyone wanting to get started with swing dancing! It was super fun! I plan to take an intermediate class once he opens one up.
May 01, 2025 · Brooke HicksMy wife and I attendeded Rich's introductory classes as a date night activity. The instructors, Rich and Molly, were super friendly, great communicators, and made the lessons very fun. We had such a great time that we're signing up for the intermediate classes!
