OM Grown Dance Studios Introduce
For North Carolina residents seeking an unparalleled dance education experience, particularly within Aberdeen and Moore County, OM Grown Dance Studios stands as a true sanctuary of movement and personal growth. Founded by Courtney Owen-Muir, affectionately known as Courtney OM, this studio has quickly garnered a reputation not just for its high-quality dance training but also for its profoundly nurturing and inclusive environment. It's a place where dancers, from recreational enthusiasts to pre-professionals, can truly thrive, find their confidence, and cultivate a deep love for the art form, all while becoming part of a supportive "OM family."
The ethos of OM Grown Dance Studios is powerfully articulated through the experiences of its students and families. Many arrive having previously experienced "toxic environments" at other studios, feeling like "just another credit card" or "a placeholder put in the back and ignored." In stark contrast, OM Grown Dance Studios has been described as a place that gives dancers "their confidence and spark back." This remarkable transformation is attributed to the studio's core philosophy: a commitment to amplifying fundamental and safe dance techniques, providing quality and accessible training, encouraging artistry and creative freedom, choreographing elevated and highly professional routines, and fostering a healthy and inclusive environment. Above all, OM Grown is dedicated to ensuring that "Each dancer matters. Each gets their time to shine every class," and that there are "NO FAVORITES." This unwavering commitment to fairness and individual attention creates a truly equitable and empowering space for all students.
Beyond traditional dance instruction, OM Grown Dance Studios embraces a holistic approach to movement and well-being. They integrate elements like breath work, mindfulness, artistry, and body movement into their curriculum, teaching students (both boys and girls) how to gain "awareness and confidence of their bodies, minds, and souls." This comprehensive approach sets OM Grown apart, demonstrating their dedication to the overall development of the dancer as an individual, not just as a technician. The profound impact is evident in testimonials describing dancers who have "grown years in just a few months," seeing improvements not only in technique and strength but also in "over all mental well being."

Jazz: Classes drawing from a variety of historical and contemporary styles (Broadway, commercial, funk, classical), focusing on syncopated rhythms, body isolations, and precision.
Acrobatics: Uses strength and flexibility for gymnastic-based tricks, with conditioning exercises to prepare for increased difficulty. Instructors use the Acrobatic Arts curriculum and syllabus.

OM Grown Dance Studios Reviews
You will not find another dance studio that matches or rises to this one! Our daughter used to dance at another studio in town for two years. She experienced those recreational classes and competition team for part of the year. Due to a very toxic environment, bullying, dance mom drama, etc.. our daughter needed to go elsewhere. Somewhere where we did not feel like just another credit card and where my daughter didn’t feel like a placeholder and put in the back and ignored day after day. A place where the studio was not run/influenced by several mothers.OM gave my daughter her confidence and spark back that was taken away. We have been with OM since the start of the year and can’t believe we weren’t here earlier. Courtney the owner graciously met with us to come up with the best and healthiest plan for my daughter after assessment. She has been training with OM Company this year and the improvement in her technique and skill in just 2 months far exceeds what she was receiving before at the other studio.Courtney and the other instructors (Brittany/Hannah/guests) CARE. There are NO FAVORITES. Each dancer matters. Each gets their time to shine every class. The girls love and encourage each other. They bond they have is magic. The moms and families are a team as well. We all support each other. No drama. We trust Courtney to do what is best for our girls.I have also never seen another studio that also has focused days/classes on breath work, mindfulness, artistry, body movement etc. It’s not just about teaching a dance but teaching her students (boys and girls) how to gain awareness and confidence of their bodies, minds, and souls. We are so blessed and thankful for our OM family! Can’t wait to watch my daughter continue to flourish!
Feb 20, 2024 · Jennifer BerryOM is the best decision I could have made for my daughter. She has grown years in just a few months. Her technique, strength and over all mental well being have never been better. Courtney, Brittany, Erica, Eileen and the rest of the staff are so present, passionate and talented and it’s a breath of fresh air. This studio truly embodies family and professionalism.
Oct 22, 2024 · Sylvia PerezOM Grown Dance Studios is a whole vibe! We discovered the studio completely by accident and decided to take a few Technique Clinics offered over summer break to stay in practice. After being at our previous studio since Day One of my daughter’s dance life (8 years), she was a little nervous stepping in to a new space. But Courtney - the creative genius behind the OMpire - is truly magical and has a way of making every person feel like they belong. In the short time we’ve been here (my daughter decided to go with her gut and transition to this studio after experiencing a summer here that helped her grow by leaps and bounds in both her technique and her artistry), I can say without a doubt that OM is the perfect space for us. The teachers all balance encouragement and positivity with high expectations of teamwork, participation, and giving it your all. They promote self-awareness and artistry and creativity. They work these kids HARD (all while participating themselves, which the kids love to see), and yet they all come out smiling at the end of the day because they are so proud of themselves. We consider ourselves blessed to be on this journey with Courtney and her ever-growing faculty.
Oct 29, 2024 · Amanda WardIf you are looking for a studio where you want your dancer to be seen for who they are and excel faster than you could ever imagine, look no further. Ms. Courtney is a unicorn when it comes to people. She’s an incredible dance instructor , business owner, and friend. My little dancer has gained more technical skills in a few short months at OM than she has in previous studios over years. My dancer was new to the company this year and she felt at hOMe right away! Courtney is raising not only amazing dancers but amazing people as well. Skills that will go beyond the dance world.
Nov 03, 2024 · Amber BarrWe signed up my daughter for their summer dance camp and had the BEST experience!! My daughter was so excited to go to camp everyday! They even had a mini recital the last day of camp and they had a performance for us parents!Wish we could’ve done every week but I had booked other camps before I found these ones!
