My kids love going to Not Just Dance! It is such a wonderful community with caring, experienced theater, dancing, tech and vocal teachers. Despite what some reviewers might say, NO rehearsals are “random”. And Not Just Dance staff are very open about making sure that families list their conflicts in advance so that the staff can work around absences, because they understand that families are busy.My kids have grown so much in their theater abilities because of Not Just Dance. We recommend it to everyone. Like most theater, it can be hard work — but it is also FUN!
Sep 23, 2023 · Jen WolffMy two boys have grown up with this wonderful organization. These ladies run an organized, structured program that keeps the children entertained and learning. I feel my children are very fortunate for being exposed to such wonderful teachings.
Oct 21, 2017 · Reid ThompsonMy children love NJD. They have been attending for several years, and been in 9 different productions, several dance classes. Of all the activities they are involved in, the only one they go to without complaint is NJD. There are chances to be introduced to all aspects of theatre - acting, singing, dance, set design, technical, and costume. We are so impressed with what is learned - the attention to each child helps to build confidence and a normally shy child comes alive and not nervous on stage!
Sep 22, 2023 · SF AnthonyI have been consistently impressed by Not Just Dance not only as patron but now as a participating family. My 2 children have enjoyed summer camp there and now are on their 2nd winter show. The staff runs a tight ship which leads to exceeding expectation performances.
Sep 27, 2023 · Ginny GeorgeNot Just Dance (NJD) is truly my kids’ home away from home! The teachers are nurturing and dedicated professionals who set high expectations, which brings out the best in the students and results in amazing, professional-like performances. I don’t know of any other place like it in this area! The winter production of Les Mis was so good that an audience member turned to me after the curtain call with tears streaming down her face and said, “I thought I was just going to see a school play - this was epic!”My kids take dancing, singing, and acting classes and are learning so many skills that have real-life applications like how to prepare for and conduct yourself during an audition, how to work as part of a team, how to receive and integrate feedback, how to present in front of an audience, and how to take risks. The directors and teachers provide guidance but also give the performers space to make creative choices on stage so that they can see for themselves what works and what doesn’t.Lastly, NJD parents form a welcoming community and know that it takes A LOT of work to keep a performing arts studio running so are willing to pitch in where needed, which is always much appreciated by the staff. We are so grateful for this special place!
