Sep 04, 2023 · Jessica DutkiewiczWe tried several activities and classes around Columbus when my youngest was little and Music Together with Leigh Mamlin was where landed home. We took classes from around 3 years old until she graduated out of rhythm kids! This music class gave us time together each week, time for her and I to connect and for me to slow down. The songs gave me tools to use in my every day parenting, especially through transitions or big feelings - hers and mine! Music Together also built skills for my daughter that transcended singing and playing: it gave her confidence in many other areas, it helped her in math and reading with recognizing patterns, and it gave her early exposure to other languages and cultures. If you’re going to pick any activity for babies on through kindergarten, I would hands down pick Music Together.

Sep 01, 2023 · Cassia ManginThese classes and teachers are just the best! It is not even just about the weekly classes - you get a wonderful collection of songs that find their way into all aspects of you and your child's day over the semester. The music selections are culturally and musically diverse and not at all annoying like some kids music can be. Cannot recommend enough!

Mar 21, 2024 · Laura MaherOh my gosh, I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Music Matters and how it has benefitted my boys (and myself). I joined the Music Matters family almost 5 years ago with my oldest son and have continued the journey with my youngest son, now 18 months old. I joined with my oldest when he was 7 weeks old. I appreciated having a place where I could not only get out of the house and be in a judgment-free space, but also connect with my son through music and dance.I genuinely believe that Music Together helped my sons become vocal faster than they might have without the classes. We've experienced Music Together in a variety of ways over the years - we did virtual classes during COVID, then outdoor in the summer, and we've had lots of classes in the studios. No matter what, Sarah, Leigh, and Alyssa have created an amazing experience for my boys. They're each so different in their teaching styles, but wonderful in their own ways. Our whole family goes to classes together, and I love seeing my older son's growth as he now sings along with the songs and tries to keep rhythm, and also watching my youngest's love of music blossom. He gets so excited so play instruments, and whenever a song starts playing, he starts dancing, and I credit Music Matters for sparking that love. For me personally, I have loved the connection with other parents and having that time to bond with my kids. It's also a great stress relief for me as well. There are days when I am tightly wound, and as soon as I step into the classroom, I relax, because for 45 minutes, my only job is to let go, sing, dance, and be in the moment. It's such a gift, and I encourage anyone with young kids to try it out.
