Artisan Dance Studio Reviews
Kate Sandborn, who teaches the beginner Hip Hop class, is amazing. You can tell how well she is liked based on the dramatic increase in class sizes over the last 6 months. She is SO welcoming, and takes the time EVERY CLASS to remind people that it's ok to mess up, this is a safe and casual environment, and we're here to have fun. She is also good at breaking down each step so everyone, even people who have never danced before, can understand. Highly recommend.
Mar 23, 2025 · VKelsey was an awesome instructor!! My second dance class ever and I was blown away by her patience and creativity in her teaching!! Give that lady a promotion!!
Jun 14, 2025 · Jacob DelightI love this dance studio! I have been taking adult ballet classes, adult beginner hip hop and intermediate hip hop for almost a year here. Everyone is super nice, shoutout to Myles, Tyleigh, and Kate you guys are amazing. I love each of your classes! As well, Jessica is nice and helpful especially when answering questions about the studio and dance classes.
Jan 16, 2025 · Grace SSimply put, this is not the most welcoming and supportive studio. Kara, Carly, Marissa, Miles and Lindsey were all incredibly supportive and accommodating. They seemed to genuinely care for their students and encouraged growth. Unfortunately I do not believe the same can be said for Jessica. She often seemed overworked and burdened by this job. Before class I requested to speak to her about a scheduling conflict which had arose due to my enrollment at the dance program at my high school , which was for a grade. She looked uneasy, and I assured her it was nothing bad. She responded with a passive aggressive “Well I just expected a ‘Hello Ms Jessica, Thank you for being a wonderful teacher’”, which threw me off. I had not been expecting this sort of immature attitude. I then explained the conflict and presented a reasonable compromise. In the middle of my proposal, she gave a look and begun shaking her head, said “nope”, and motioned me into the classroom with no further explanation. I eventually walked out before the class ended, frustrated with her , what felt like, odd targeting due to our discussion before class. That night, she reached out to me via email, much more responsive and respective. She suddenly seemed more than willing to come to a compromise once she realized she lost a customer I suppose. It’s noteworthy to mention many students also talked of how frustrating her favoring was towards a few other students. This wasn’t one or two, this was the general consensus among the competitive dancers on the elite and excellence team. Extremely dissapointing and mind boggling experience. I would not have expected this from a professional business owner, let alone a youths dance teacher.
Dec 14, 2024 · Zoey CI was a little intimidated to start dancing as an adult since I haven’t taken any dance since I was in high school and I’m “older” Everyone here is very welcoming, kind and positive! I have been able to try a few classes. My only complaint is that the beginner jazz is more so intermediate as well as the hip hop. I have gone three times and I feel lost because everyone in the class is doing the kicks and turns etc and I haven’t been taught. I don’t see many absolute beginner classes (which I’m assuming is where they break down each move) can we have more absolute beginner classes?
