Music House School of Performing Arts - Humboldt Park Reviews
The Music Together classes have been so educational and fun. We started our son when he was an infant and it was great to see him reacting to the music. The teacher was very engaging and the classes had just the right amount of structure to keep the kids focused. Our whole family (my wife and I included) looked forward to the classes and found them a great way to start a Sunday — enjoying music with community really is a magical thing. We’ll definitely continue and we look forward to watching our son develop his skills and grow his appreciation of music.
Apr 20, 2025 · Matt PelkeyWe started taking our child to Music House for Music Together classes when he was about 6 months old and continued for several sessions. The Music Together class was flexible enough to keep him engaged and learning at various development stages. Before becoming a parent I wouldn't have thought I'd enjoy singing and dancing to kids' music with a group of strangers, but Music House is such a comfortable environment, and the Music Together music and movements are so easy to engage with that I never gave it a second thought. The only reason we stopped going was because our schedule got complicated, but we look forward to starting up again! In addition to attending Music Together classes, we have also brought our son to Music House for the Halloween party and performances. We've always felt welcome and enjoyed ourselves at these events.
Mar 18, 2025 · Tess LandonOur family loves Music House. My son has been enrolled in private guitar lessons with Mr. Otto since the fall of 2023. He has learned so much and looks forward to his class.Music house is friendly and attentive. When we call or show up, they recognize us and are ready to adress our needs. They offer a variety of classes. With just stepping inside, you can hear the magic of music happening in the building.
Mar 23, 2024 · Gloria DelgadoWe love Music House! Our daughter is in the Music Together class in Humboldt Park and it’s been a fabulous experience participating as a family. Ashley, who runs the HP location is super friendly and helpful. Christina, who teaches the class, is lovely. She is so enthusiastic and engaging with kiddos from little babies to toddlers to older siblings. In class, the kids (and parents) sing, dance, and use all sorts of instruments. Outside of class, our daughter also sings all the songs and they give you a CD of the music if you want to play it at home, in the car, etc. It is also clear that as much as this class is super fun, it’s also laying the foundation for the kids to play music or be music enthusiasts – while having fun, you are also calling out rhythm and tonal patterns, harmonizing, encouraged to improvise etc. There is a ton out there in terms of classes for kids in the city, but we think this one is more than worth the cost and we intend to keep Music House classes in our routine for the foreseeable future. Finally, this is a local and family run business that is doing great things in our public schools and communities to expose kids to music and the arts and we are thrilled to support that mission. I encourage you to check Music House out!
Nov 11, 2016 · Megan HartWe first heard about Music House through our daughter's previous school. She took after school violin lessons with MH (and then a dance class on the weekends). Ashley and her team are great - they are passionate, enthusiastic and patient with the kids.In addition to the lessons, they are live savers during CPS closings. Not just the know school closings, but also emergency closings. When it was announced last week that schools would close due to weather, an hour later, we got an email saying Music House would be offering a day camp. Super affordable and my daughter always has a great time. We've also used the space for a birthday party recently and it was a great experience. They're very laid back and flexible about what kind of party you want to have, they took care of the decorations, activities and clean up.We're so lucky and happy to have Music House in our neighborhood!
