I appreciate the fact that Leah believes a strong understanding in ballet technique is the foundation for all forms of dance. Jan 11, 2016 · Brenda Crump-GillyardI went there and although the dance instructors were very kind, I was new to ballet and they expected me to already know the steps with the other girls. They never taught me the basics of ballet so I had trouble keeping up with the other girls. As I said before, the dance instructors were kind and sweet but the other girls were rude and I felt alone every class. There were only a few girls my age that were kind and friendly to me but the girls older than me by a year, were disgustingly rude since I ever joined the dance classes. They were never friendly until they were forced to when they were partnered up with me. I heard them whispering about my posture, my leaps, and my toes. I felt nervous every time I went to ballet class because of the girls. Keep in mind, there were still a few kind girls. The dances we were taught and the stretches we had were good. I loved ballet and contemporary and just dance in general and I wanted to continue to do dance from this studio but after our first performance, it was decided that I would quit since I felt so lonely and miserable in the studio. I felt excluded. I've told my mother if we could please go to another studio but she felt that I was just embarrassed and didn't even want to do dance but it was really I was nervous that if I give my all into the dances, the other girls would make fun of me.
