Miss Donna's School of Dance Reviews
I went to this dance studio for 10 consecutive years including helping with some summer classes as like a "big sister" type roll with some younger children. I was most certainly not the best dancer in the class but this place had become like a second family to me. I started here at 2 years old and ended when I was 12, my father passed away right before getting to perform my tenth year recital and my instructor knew this as we had a song that was informally dedicated to him as a dance for our fathers. The 10 year recitals were a big deal to everyone because you go from small trophy's to plaques to your large 10 year trophy, and especially important a 12 year old who had just lost her dad. After this recital my age group patiently waited to know when we could start the following year of classes and we heard ABSOLUTELY NOTHING from them. No letter letting us know, no phone call. One of my classmates that lived closer (as we traveled for 10 years to Harrisburg for my classes) went there to ask and was informed that they were no longer teaching our age group. I was absolutely crushed, any joy that I had for dancing was destroyed and I genuinely felt betrayed especially considering the THOUSANDS of dollars my parents had poured into this place, just for my class to be virtually disposed of. Just be warned that it is a business and they proved then that business is ALL they are. I would like to say however that even though Ms. Connie was not my teacher all of the years I was there she is the ONLY one who has shown any kind of kindness or apology for all of this.
Oct 08, 2024 · Cloe KingI am very disappointed in the 2020 dance recital. My child had 3 dances and placed in the back for all of them behind the tallest dancer in the class. This meant for the majority of all 3 dances she was blocked and could not be seen even on the jumbotron video from the baseball field. I was also assigned to the furthest section of the baseball stadium which meant our family could not physical see her performance and had to rely on the jumbotron which again did not help because she was in the back behind the tallest dancer. This was a waste of my money and time and a huge disappointment for the end of the dance year. My child is 5 years old and at least she had fun performing. I wish I had a video to show her.
