Hopkins Dance Company Reviews
I signed my daughter and niece up for their first dance classes with Hopkins Dance last spring when they were 3 years old. The studio offered exactly what we were looking for, with focus on detail and really caring about each dancer as an individual. I can't sing their praises enough. It was the girls' favorite thing to do each week and really helped to start teaching them the basics of dance. Mary and Marge make a great team and welcomed myself and the girls from the start with open arms!
Feb 04, 2020 · Tricia BurnsHopkins Dance Company is different from so many other studios! There is an emphasis on technique, on personal responsibility, respect and hard work. My daughter learned so much about herself, working on a team, and gaining skills that have carried her through many situations in her life outside the studio. After Leslie Daly passed away, Mary Distel and Marge Thornton continued her style but improved on the model that Leslie had developed. They are great at working with the whole person - they are not just churning out dancers who can perform routines. They care about the dancers' physical and mental health, making sure they focus on becoming great human beings - being great dancers is the natural result! I have recommended the studio to friends with young girls just starting out - it's a great place for young people to grow!
Feb 04, 2020 · Megan AdamI was fortunate enough to attend Hopkins Dance Company growing up and recently returned as a student to participate in their adult classes. HDC makes dance accessible to students of all skill levels and has built a curriculum centered around technique. The studio itself mirrors what you would find in NYC and I love the sense of community the owners continue to foster. Highly recommend if you live in the area!
Feb 05, 2020 · Elizabeth ParsonsHopkins Dance Center has been my safe place since I was 4 years old. I truly believe that I would not be the same person I am now had HDC not been in my life. Leslie Daly and Mary Distel have shaped the way I treat myself and others. Both of them have become significant role models to me since my youth and Mary especially has become a sort of mother figure for me. This studio has always been a support system for me. They have always been respectful and supportive of all my other passions and they have always treated me with kindness and love. This studio truly is one of the best places to send your child for dance lessons, as they will come out not only a better dancer, but a better person as well.
Feb 05, 2020 · Anna ArnesonI cannot sing my praises higher about Hopkins Dance Center. After Leslie's passing Marge and Mary have expanded the studio in all of the best ways. They care about the students not just in their dance abilities but about them as people. Their involvement in the community is so special, something I haven't seen in other dance centers.
