Encore School of Dance, located in Saginaw, TX, presents a compelling mix of features and highlights that draw in aspiring dancers, alongside some concerns raised by a long-term client. It’s important to consider both perspectives to understand the full picture of what this studio offers.
Strong Sense of Community and Family: A glowing review emphasizes the studio as "one of the most amazing, comforting, loving, and wholesome ones out there." This individual, having danced there for nine years, states, "Encore is my second family and I will never EVER leave. And not only are my peers amazing, the staff is too!!! I love my teachers and friends dearly and I am so glad to be here." This highlights a significant strength in fostering deep, positive relationships and a supportive environment.
Dedicated and Caring Staff: The positive review explicitly praises the teachers and friends. Another review, while critical of other aspects, still notes that "This studio does have some wonderful teachers though and the front desk staff is amazing. This indicates that individual staff members are highly regarded for their kindness, teaching abilities, and commitment to students.
Holistic Development: The studio's philosophy, as articulated by a long-term student, extends beyond just dance technique: "Encore doesn't just teach us how to be a great dancer but also a good person." Concerns Regarding Cost and Team Placement: A cautionary tale from a 7-year veteran parent raises significant concerns. Issues cited include the removal of a "cap that prevents you from spending more than a car payment or your mortgage," and the perception that "the strategy to place dancers on teams does not reflect the skill of the dancer but the loyalty and dollar amount spent to the studio. In short they do seem to play favorites." This suggests potential areas for improvement in transparency and equity, particularly for competitive programs.
Concerns Regarding Dancer Safety: The same critical review mentions "multiple instances where dancers have come out injured including my daughter due to a lack of a proper warm up." This is a serious concern regarding student well-being and safety protocols.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This studio is probably one of the most amazing, comforting, loving, and wholesome one out there. I have danced here for 9 years now and every second has been the best!!!. Encore doesn't just teach us how to be a great dancer but also a good person. Encore is my second family and I will never EVER leave. And not only are my peers amazing, the staff is too!!! I love my teachers and friends dearly and I am so glad to be here. If you are looking for a studio with great dancing AND amazing people... I think you found just the one😊
Jul 03, 2025 · Sophie SalinasUse this as a cautionary tale.My daughter was dancing here for seven years and it has increasingly become more prevalent that they only truly care about the dollar sign that comes with the amount you spend.First off, they took away the cap that prevents you from spending more than a car payment or your mortgage. Now this wouldn’t be an issue if you competed on a grander stage like nationals.Second, they don’t warm up their dancers properly. There have been multiple instances where dancers have come out injured including my daughter due to a lack of a proper warm up.Third it seems like the strategy to place dancers on teams does not reflect the skill of the dancer but the loyalty and dollar amount spent to the studio. In short they do seem to play favorites. This studio does have some wonderful teachers though and the front desk staff is amazing. Mrs Rachel is probably the nicest person in all of Texas and she runs amazing community out reach. The studio is not worth the money you pay. No studio should cost as much as a house and they will tell you it’s a privilege to dance.
Jun 28, 2025 · NickMy daughter has been dancing here since 2015. She has danced recreationally and competitively. The buildings are clean and safe, the office staff is welcoming and knowledgeable and, most importantly, the teachers are knowledgeable and truly care for the children. My daughter’s teachers truly love her. She is comfortable and trusts each of them. Any time I have had a question, it has been resolved quickly and professionally.Even after 10 years, we see consistent growth in our daughter’s dancing technique. She has met her best friends at the dance studio and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. I have recommended Encore without reservation to many people and will continue to do so.
Jun 30, 2025 · Elissa VillarrealMy daughter has been dancing with Encore since 2018. From tumble tots and recreational classes to competitive dance, our experience has been nothing short of amazing. She has gained confidence and learned new skills due to the quality instruction and caring teachers at this studio. The hard work and effort they put into each season set the example of a good work ethic for all the dancers. The staff at Encore genuinely cares about the character they are building into their students, which will last years beyond dancing. I love that each year they send out a survey to see where they can improve, and they listen! They are always willing to create the best experience possible for their dancers and their families. My daughter loves coming to the studio; she gets to do what brings her joy and do it with friends and teachers she loves. I highly recommend Encore if you are searching for a dance studio to call home. The Encore standard is one you cannot get at just any studio! If you're looking for a positive atmosphere and quality instruction this is it!
Jul 01, 2025 · Christina AndradeOur twins have been dancing since they were 2.5 years old at Encore School of Dance, and now at 9, it has been such a rewarding journey. While they are on the competition dance team, the lessons they’ve gained from this experience far outweigh the value of any trophy. Through dance, they’ve learned perseverance, discipline, obedience, teamwork, trust, responsibility, and dedication. These qualities are shaping them into responsible and hardworking individuals. We also appreciate that the costumes and dances are always age-appropriate, and the atmosphere is very family-friendly. The sense of camaraderie and friendship they’ve built with their teammates is priceless. We’re grateful for the positive environment that’s helping our kids grow, not just as dancers, but as people.Attach
