It's taken me two weeks to drum up the words to put on here. If I could put no stars I would. I have a daughter who is autistic and full of energy, I thought putting her in tumbling would be perfect for her. I wanted to take her somewhere she would be accepted and understood. I called and asked plenty of question months ahead of enrolling her I called again before registering her, I was told the school accepted kids with ADHD and Autism. I was told they had children enrolled with high energy and they did really good. I paid for a trial class, I was very nervous for my daughter this was her first time and I was hoping she would be accepted by the other children. I was worried about the wrong thing, it was the adults who did not accept her. A parent made a snide comment about her, and within two minutes of the class starting up the teacher brought her to the door and said "what's her name," something both teachers failed to ask or talk to me at all before class started, followed with "she can't be in this class, she's too distracting." Her 45 minute trial class was over in 2. I had to take my daughter to the restroom screaming and upset because she could not understand why she was being punished for being happy and excited. I had to pick up both my screaming devastated 5-year-old daughter, my 18-month-old son and struggle to take them back to the car. My nonverbal child unfortunately spoke that day "mommy go back," her words cut me so deep I sat in the parking lot and cried, while she screamed at the top of her lungs tears running down her cheeks. I took a very big chance of trying something for her, I shelter her so much from the outside world because of rude comments and bullying, and Dorothy Keck dance studio was not a safe space for my baby. This was an unforgivable act of discrimination and I'm writing this for other parents with special need children so you're not lied to as well! - Rebecka Hayes
