Division Street Dance Introduce
Hello, fellow Minnesotans! When you think of a "sports complex," your mind might jump to fields, courts, or arenas. However, the world of movement and athleticism extends beautifully into the vibrant art form of dance. And for those in the Northfield area looking for a truly exceptional place to cultivate grace, strength, and confidence, Division Street Dance is the premier destination. This isn't a traditional sports complex in the typical sense, but rather a dynamic hub for dance education, fostering physical prowess and artistic expression in a way that truly benefits our community members of all ages.

The studio's impact is eloquently captured by parents who have experienced its magic. One parent shared how their three-year-old daughter's year at DSD was a "fabulous experience for all of us," noting that "Miss Emily was so kind and sweet to the kids." They even lamented being "unable to find a studio with the same respect, care, and effective leadership for young kiddos" after moving, calling DSD "a one of a kind studio." This sentiment is echoed by another long-time family: "We have been dancing with Emily since she opened Division Street Dance. Communication has always been great. The studio has grown so much over the years." These testimonials highlight the studio's commitment to nurturing young talent with genuine care and professional guidance.
Furthermore, Division Street Dance truly caters to diverse interests within the dance world. "My daughter loves the musical theater class and my son loves his hip hop class," noted one satisfied parent, whose "son has been dancing with Emily since he was 18 months old in the parent child class." This wide range of offerings, coupled with transparent and "priced right" tuition and clear explanations of costs like costumes and shoes (with fundraising opportunities!), makes DSD an accessible and appealing option for many Minnesota families. It's truly a place "where everyone feels valued and supported, encouraging personal and artistic growth."

Division Street Dance Reviews
My daughter, Michaella, went to Division street dance for one year, at age three. It was a fabulous experience for all of us. She loved going and Miss Emily was so kind and sweet to the kids. Unfortunately we moved and have been unable to find a studio with the same respect, care, and effective leadership for young kiddos. This is a one of a kind studio (I believe) and if you are looking at different places to start your child, this is the right place!! I wish many, many more years of success to Division Street Dance and truly am thankful for the experience we had!
May 01, 2025 · Ashley NippaWe have been dancing with Emily since she opened Division Street Dance. Communication has always been great. The studio has grown so much over the years. My daughter loves the musical theater class and my son loves his hip hop class. Our son has been dancing with Emily since he was 18 months old in the parent child class. Tuition is priced right and all other costs such as costumes and shoes are all well explained with opportunity of fundraising to cover the costs. The studio does a great job with classes from toddlers up to adulthood! Here is to many more years!
May 31, 2018 · Katie Kes-PickAfter experiencing a very disappointing year at another local dance company (I am choosing to not name publicly) we decided to try Division Street Dance. This is our daughters 7th year of dance and the other company drastically affected her technical skills and enjoyment. We are SO happy with our choice to come to DSD. Communication is excellent without getting overboard. We know everything we need to know and have adequate reminders without getting emailed constantly. The owner Emily has created a company that works hard and focuses on skills while still keeping it fun for the kids. Our daughter loves her group and teacher and I would recommend anyone to DSD. Thank you for your hard work Emily!
Feb 10, 2020 · Amber SkluzacekWe have a lot of people from diving that switch over to NDA. One of the people who switched had a very hard situation. She found out one of her teachers where plagiarizing others dances and when she confronted them they didn't do anything about it. The kids knew about this also and my friend was the only one to leave. She also told is that she was bullied by her peers and teachers. They purposefully brought back a student that had been a main bully to my friend as a teacher. She went through a lot and I don’t think that is a good environment for anyone no matter the situation.
Jul 24, 2019 · Jane A.Very confined, dirty waiting/sitting area. Recitals cost a lot to get in to when you already paid for tuition. Lower tuition cost is a plus but you get what you pay for. Poor communication when you start; front desk college students dont know really anything and are constantly chatting and texting with friends. Owner is very nice and teaches a lot of the dances therefore the business side of the studio is lacking.
