As a local establishment, it serves the immediate community, aiming to provide a space for rhythmic expression and performance.
When considering any local business, especially one involving children's activities, it's important for New York families to gather comprehensive information. Dance With Me offers classes for various ages, aiming to be a convenient choice for parents in the surrounding neighborhoods. Understanding the structure of their programs, the typical class experience, and the overall commitment involved, especially regarding performances and associated costs, is crucial for making an informed decision that aligns with individual expectations and priorities.
For parents in particular, the convenience of a dance school being close to a child’s school or home can be a significant advantage, simplifying logistics in a city where time is often at a premium. Dance With Me aims to fulfill this need by providing a local option. While the monthly fees might appear budget-friendly, prospective students and parents often look for a clear understanding of the overall value, including the quality of instruction, the engagement level in classes, and the transparency of all associated expenses for the full dance season.
Dance With Me is located at 3209 Quentin Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11234, USA. This address places the studio within a residential area of Brooklyn, specifically in the Midwood/Marine Park vicinity. For New Yorkers, the accessibility of this location will largely depend on their proximity and preferred mode of transport.
Quentin Road is a local thoroughfare, and while it might not be directly adjacent to major subway hubs, the area is typically served by local bus routes that can connect to subway lines such as the B or Q trains further west or the L train further north. For residents within the immediate neighborhoods of Midwood, Marine Park, and Bergen Beach, the studio is likely a convenient drive or a relatively short bus ride away. The availability of on-street parking may vary, which is a common consideration for those driving in Brooklyn.
The studio's presence in this specific Brooklyn neighborhood makes it a local option for families residing nearby, offering the advantage of reduced travel time for regular classes. This localized presence can be a key factor for parents managing busy schedules and seeking extracurricular activities within their immediate community, though potential students from further afield in New York might need to consider the travel time.
Based on available public information, Dance With Me appears to offer dance instruction, primarily for children, culminating in an annual recital. While a detailed list of specific dance styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, hip-hop) is not extensively available, the general impression is that they provide foundational dance classes.
- Dance Classes for Children: The primary service appears to be dance instruction tailored for children, likely covering basic dance techniques and routines.
- Affordable Monthly Fees: One of the key aspects highlighted by reviews is the relatively inexpensive monthly tuition fee, making it an accessible option from a cost perspective.
- Annual Dance Recitals: The studio organizes a yearly recital, which involves performances by all classes. This provides students with an opportunity to perform on stage.
- Costumes for Recitals: As part of the recital, students are required to purchase specific costumes for their performances.
- Recital Ticket Sales: Parents and attendees are required to purchase tickets to watch the annual dance performance.
It is important for prospective families to inquire directly with Dance With Me for a comprehensive and current list of all services, including specific class types, age groups, detailed pricing structures, and any additional fees associated with participation, particularly concerning costumes and recital attendance. Transparency regarding the full financial commitment is key for making an informed decision.
When evaluating Dance With Me, certain features and highlights emerge from public feedback, which can help New Yorkers understand what to expect from the studio. It's important to note that these are based on customer experiences and reflect both perceived strengths and areas for improvement.
- Cost-Effective Monthly Tuition: A frequently mentioned highlight is the affordability of the monthly class fees. For families seeking dance education without a high recurring cost, this can be a significant advantage. This allows more children to access dance activities on a regular basis.
- Convenient Local Location: The studio's address in Brooklyn makes it easily accessible for families residing in the surrounding neighborhoods. This geographical convenience is a major draw for New Yorkers managing busy schedules and seeking activities close to home or school.
- Grand-Scale Recitals: The annual recitals are organized with a significant emphasis on presentation, sometimes described as having a "Broadway show" aesthetic. The owners reportedly focus on organizing these events to create a memorable spectacle, which can be an exciting experience for young performers and their families who enjoy large-scale productions.
- Multiple Dances per Class at Recital: The studio aims for each class to perform two dances in the recital. This might appeal to parents who want to see their child perform more than once during the show.
- Opportunities for Performance Exposure: Despite criticisms, the fact that all students get to participate in a formal recital, often at a larger venue like Kingsborough College, provides valuable stage experience for young dancers and a sense of accomplishment.
It is advisable for interested families to visit the studio, observe a class if possible, and engage directly with the staff to gain a firsthand understanding of the teaching methodology and overall atmosphere, as individual experiences may vary. Understanding all associated costs, particularly for recitals, in advance is also highly recommended.

Dance With Me Reviews
If you’re looking for a dance school that’s close to your child’s school and doesn’t cost too much, and if you genuinely have no other expectations, then “Dance with Me” might be a good fit. They charge $65 or $85 per class, depending on the package, and classes start late, end early, and seem poorly structured. Half the class time, teachers are busy with who knows what, and kids are left jumping around aimlessly. When it comes to feedback, be prepared for a less-than-welcoming response. Any questions or concerns from parents are typically met with, “If you don’t like it, leave!” And if you dare to follow up, you might even receive a message implying you’re the problem. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. On top of that, costumes are extremely expensive, and parents are required to buy tickets to the most boring performance ever. It’s clear that monopolizing a market does not improve quality.
Nov 05, 2024 · Evgenia ZakharovaThis dance studio is not very expensive where monthly fee is concerned but recitals is a whole different story. If you want your child to learn to dance take him/her somewhere else. Kids in this studio spend their time goofing around and learn nothing. But you have to hand it to the owners, they know how to organize recitals. They prepare it like it's a Broadway show, except there is no content. Kids don't know how to dance, the choreography is mediocre at best. After spending hundreds of dollars for costumes and buying tickets (yes, you actually have to pay to watch your own child perform) you are compelled to sit through the most boring show of your life. The studio makes it its duty that every class prepares two dances, as the result the show drags for hours where you watch 2 or 3 moves repeated in different combinations by all the classes. Like I said it lacks basic choreography. Most of the kids can't even memorize their routines so the teachers stand in front of them and gesture all the moves with their hands. Pathetic.IMO the studio should cut their ambitions and mind the cost. Make the kids to learn a single dance but do it well. Drill the children, don't just let the kids do whatever they want in class. Hire somebody who at least knows choreography. Keep recitals brief, don't inflate with competition team's routines, parents come to see their own child to perform first of all. And change the venue, Kingsborough College is too expensive and totally not worth it.
