City Dance & Music Reviews
The classes I was able to attend were fun and informative. I didn’t get to enjoy the full class pack I purchased because I got sick. When I called to ask if I could finish up the class pack I bought I was told I had to use them within three months. Fair. I explained that I didn’t attend in the allotted time because I’ve been dealing with a cancer diagnosis. “Well didn’t you read the terms when you bought the classes?”I understand sticking to policies to a degree, but this felt cold. If you’re looking for a studio that is compassionate and accommodating you may want to look elsewhere.
Jun 20, 2025 · Anna NolanMonitor your Credit Card** UPDATE: early 2025, the studio credited me with the classes owed, as agreed upon**• Oct 2023: Studio double-charged me $150 without authorization and never credited me for the extra payment.• June 2024: I authorized a one-time $220 charge, but within 30 days, my card was charged 4 times, totaling $880.• When I flagged the extra charges, Crystal dismissed my concerns, despite my credit card statements proving them.• When she stopped responding, I disputed the unauthorized charges with my bank, which refunded me $660.• After my bank reversed the charges, Crystal suddenly became responsive—but accused my bank of “taking money” from her. 🚩🚩• In Sept 2024, she fabricated a backdated monthly contract (which I never saw, signed, or agreed to) and sent it to my bank or a third party—who rightly rejected it.• Crystal even admitted that staff mistakenly told me the $220 package was a one-time charge but later insisted I should have known better as a long-time student.• I filed a complaint with the GA Attorney General, and Crystal later offered via email to credit me for the classes I’d paid for. After she didn’t follow through, I filed with BBB. Then she followed through a couple months ago, 2025, rectifying this situation. This is resolved and Crystal followed through with her solution.
May 21, 2025 · Melissa JTook my consultation money, it's been 2 weeks and they've never contacted me for a consultation piano lesson for my kid, asked for a refund and now they're not answering any voicemails or emails. Kinda sad to say but typical Atlanta behavior from businesses.
Jan 21, 2025 · June ClarkGreat space and teachers that care about all of their students both children and adults!
Apr 10, 2025 · mark burnsI've been taking classes at Atlanta Dance and Music Academy, on and off, since 2017. Though they share the similarity with many studios in having an extensive kids' programs, they also offer ballet and other dance styles for adults. What I've enjoyed is participating in the adult performances, my own participation starting in 2021. Not all adults want to be in the optional performances: in our case, any funds raised go to the partner non-profit City Dance Inc. Some adult students prefer simply to take classes. There is a good camaraderie among the instructors and the adult dancers. I believe the environment is welcoming to adult dancers of any age, background, or ability. I started myself as a wobbly beginner and have continued to improve over the years. Ballet takes some dedication to get better, and this studio can be part of your own fitness and artistic journey.
