Parents don’t get consumed with their 5 star reviews because more than likely it’s them or some fictional name they pretend to be to up their ratings. They are lucky I did not report them to DCF, as a retired lawyer after they allowed my very young child to walk out of class I paid for her to be in with no supervision. As a former dancer myself who went professional, your child will not get quality beyond dance team. I knew that when I enrolled my daughter because I was not trying to make her a professional.I remember when this studio was opened and one of the owners fathers trying to set his daughter up in life when neither owner was a true professional dancer nor a true teacher with experience. It’s 2 girls out of high school, clearly spoiled by one of their daddy’s dumping money into a business. But it was clear with my encounter with them, they are not someone I would ever want to influence my child and they did me a favor when Nicole defended against my concerns that their staff allowed my 4-5 year old child to walk out of a paid class to their waiting room to sit alone without me being their. It’s a joke and their are plenty other professional studios close byIt’s concerning their business isn’t listed under Sun biz and it’s clear they evade lawsuits that could close them downNeither owner has any business teaches dance, their have no formal training nor have they ever truly professionally danced in their life. - LESLIE FERDERIGOS

This ensures that students can consistently attend classes and participate in studio activities with minimal logistical challenges.

  • Competitive Dance Teams (V.I.P Team): CFDC has a competitive dance team for students interested in a more rigorous training and performance schedule. These teams typically learn new routines and compete at multiple regional competitions each season. The studio states that participation in competitive dance can help children learn teamwork, social skills, confidence, and proper dance technique.
  • Instruction for Ages Two through Eighteen: CFDC aims to provide programs across a broad age range, catering to both young beginners and more experienced teen dancers.
  • Observation Areas: The facility reportedly offers observation areas for its rehearsal/teaching studios, allowing parents or guardians to view classes.

However, it is crucial for prospective clients to be aware of significant concerns raised in publicly available customer reviews regarding the actual delivery of these services. Reviews highlight issues such as:

  • Allegations of unqualified or inexperienced instructors, specifically "2 girls out of high school" with no "formal training nor have they ever truly professionally danced."
  • Concerns about supervision, with one parent reporting their "very young child to walk out of class... with no supervision."
  • Lack of focus on recreational dancers compared to competitive dancers, where recreational classes are described as simply "jumping up and down" and not receiving consistent adult instruction.
  • Problems with management responsiveness, communication, and professionalism, including unreturned emails, unfulfilled refund promises, and defensive behavior from the owner.
  • Disorganization regarding event planning, such as last-minute recital venue bookings and inconsistent practice schedules due to competitive team commitments.
These concerns suggest that while a range of services are outlined, the execution and quality of delivery, particularly for non-competitive programs and overall studio management, may vary significantly from the stated goals.

Central Florida Dance Center (CFDC) highlights several features that it promotes as central to its offerings, aiming to attract families seeking dance education in the Winter Garden area. However, it is imperative to present these alongside the critical feedback from real customers to provide a balanced and factual overview.

  • Professional Dance Studio Environment: CFDC describes itself as a "professional dance studio located in the heart of Central Florida" offering "first-class training." They aim to provide a dedicated space for dance education.
  • Experienced and Passionate Staff (Studio's Claim): The studio mentions "highly trained staff" and instructors like Nicole (Creative Director), Lindsey, and Kelsey, who are presented as passionate about dance, inspiring creativity, and perfecting techniques. Nicole is highlighted for integrating various fitness techniques (Pilates, Gyrotonics, etc.) into classes and receiving choreography awards.
  • Family Atmosphere: CFDC states a commitment to creating a "family atmosphere that gives dancers the opportunity to grow, work together, compete at the highest levels, and pursue their dreams."
  • State-of-the-Art Facility (Studio's Claim): The studio claims to offer a "state of the art facility" with "observation areas for three rehearsal/teaching studios," aiming to provide a conducive learning environment.
  • Competitive Dance Program (V.I.P Team): The V.I.P Team is a key highlight, offering a competitive dance experience. The studio emphasizes that through competitive dance, children learn teamwork, social skills, confidence, the value of working toward a goal, and proper dance technique. They also stress that dancers must maintain good academic standing, aiming to create "well-rounded performer with a balanced life of school, family, and dance."
  • Diverse Curriculum: The range of styles offered (Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics, Technique, Hip-Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Choreography, and Pre-School Combination) is a notable feature, indicating an attempt to cater to varied interests.

Concerns Highlighted by Customer Reviews:Conversely, numerous customer reviews present significant concerns that directly contradict some of these claimed highlights, which are crucial for prospective clients to consider:

  • Instructor Qualification and Supervision: Reviews strongly allege that the studio is "run by kids" and "teenage instructors," with claims that "neither owner was a true professional dancer nor a true teacher with experience," and that they "have no formal training nor have they ever truly professionally danced in their life." A serious concern was raised about a "very young child... walk out of class... with no supervision."
  • Management Responsiveness and Professionalism: The owner, Nicole (also referred to as Courtney in one review, though this might be a misidentification or another staff member), is described as "not responsive at all," ignoring emails, failing to provide promised refunds, and being "very rude, defensive and sarcastic" in interactions.
  • Prioritization of Competitive Dancers: A significant concern is that recreational dancers are not prioritized, with claims that their classes involve little more than "jumping up and down" and that assigned adult teachers are frequently absent due to competition commitments, leaving classes to student teachers.
  • Disorganization and Lack of Planning: Parents reported issues with last-minute recital venue bookings (being told it's one location, then it's 30 minutes away) and inconsistent practice schedules for performances due to teacher absences for competitions.
  • Allegations of Misleading Reviews and Business Practices: One review suggests the 5-star reviews might be fabricated, and raises concerns about the business not being listed under "Sun biz," implying potential evasion of official registrations or lawsuits.

These stark contradictions between the studio's stated features and direct customer experiences warrant careful consideration by any family in Florida looking for a dance studio.

Its address on Winter Garden Vineland Road offers geographical convenience, which is a practical benefit for families seeking nearby activities to integrate into their routines. The studio outlines a curriculum that covers a variety of dance styles, from classical ballet to modern hip-hop and acrobatics, designed to cater to diverse interests and age groups, including young children and teenagers. Furthermore, the availability of competitive dance teams, which are highlighted for fostering teamwork and discipline, aims to provide opportunities for more serious dancers to pursue higher levels of performance. In theory, a studio that offers both recreational and competitive pathways, along with a range of styles, provides flexibility for local families to choose a program that aligns with their child's aspirations, whether it's for fun, fitness, or competitive excellence.
