Blue Springs Ballet Center Reviews
When our daughter was very little, she asked to do ballet. I didn't know anything about ballet or where to take classes. We just knew we didn't want her doing competitions or dressing inappropriately for performances. We knew several families who highly recommended Blue Springs Ballet. We enrolled her when she was three and she has been dancing there since.Their top-notch training has afforded our dancer scholarship offers from American Ballet Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Philadelphia Ballet, and Sacramento Ballet. She has been accepted to those intensives as well as Colorado Ballet, Texas Ballet, Louisville Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Ballet Met, Milwaukee Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, just to name a few. She has attended intensives at Ft. Wayne Ballet, Philadelphia Ballet, Colorado Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet, and at each school has been complimented for her form and technique. I know it is because of the incredible instruction she has received from Blue Springs Ballet. We are so fortunate to have this studio in our community. Our dancer is headed to American Ballet Theatre and Philadelphia Ballet this summer, on scholarship, thanks to the instructors at Blue Springs Ballet.
May 20, 2025 · Valerie ValleThey don't take outside dancers at older ages from what we've experienced. I just applied for Summer school '25 with them. Rejected with no eval, no audition..just all previous enrollers took all that space. 😂 As a result we are headed to Manhattan for her Summer dance intensive. 🥰 Anyway, they told me they have perfect retention from their first year ballet class to their last year ballet classes. No wiggle room for new students beyond the first year classes. None in their summer classes either. Amazing right? One wonders why they have an open enrollment sheet on their website. 🤷♀️ Everybody that enrolls with them never moves, never leaves and always finishes with them, according to them. A wonderful story if it's true. So based on that data, get your tiny dancers into their first year ballet class or go someplace else. They are super nice but very standoffish because they are super busy raising up IDC ballet competition dancers, otherwise. We love Above the Barre, KC Ballet School and Center Stage Academy. They always have time for my older ballet dancer. The Juilliard has a wonderful Florida-located mixed genre summer intensive as well. We love it! Get your tiny dancer into Blue Springs Ballet studio young or forget it. They do turn out wonderful corp de ballet crews. They sync like Chinese dancers. A perfect Chinese ballet group-think is very difficult to achieve. But I haven't seen any Prima Ballerina style dancers from them in any of the videos. Solo/other ballet competitions aren't the same as coveted Prima Ballerina performances. They are a ballet only competition studio. They do sometimes send dancers college bound like any other competition studio, as I've discovered through research. Hope this review helps you find the right dance studio for your dancer. Good luck everyone! 🥰
Apr 13, 2025 · Belinda & Daniella ToussonMy daughter started here in Angelina Ballerina classes years ago and now she is a company member. She loves ballet and has learned excellent technique and skills with the guidance of the experienced staff. I was on the fence between KC ballet and blue springs ballet. I chose blue springs ballet due to proximity but would still choose it now for overall quality of ballet training, opportunities, and value. Blue springs ballet has become an extended family for all of us. Highly recommended!!
