Angie Major Dance Instruction Reviews
To all the brides and grooms out there thinking about doing a wedding dance - Angie is your person. She is an amazing teacher and a choreographer. (and my now-husband concurs.)Angie is very patient and clearly skilled at teaching people inexperienced in dance (aka me and my husband). She breaks down each element so that it doesn't feel intimidating, and shares all the tips on how to practice it at home. She gives honest and detailed feedback yet is so kind in its delivery that you naturally feel encouraged to practice more even outside of the class. She is also very good at gently pushing the learner while staying within their capability. I had never imagined my partner would lift me up and spin as a part of the wedding dance... until I met Angie. and it was so much fun!!Most importantly, Angie keeps the classes absolutely enjoyable. Her choreography is just so fun well. She is wonderful in incorporating different types of dance such as salsa, swing dance, and ballet into one song - all the while adjusting the difficulty level based on the learners' skill/comfort level. Our wedding venue director told us that ours was the best wedding dance he had seen in 20 years. I think it's because Angie was so good at keeping the choreography interesting with different elements throughout the whole length of the song.I noticed that Google Map only shows her location as Pacifica; She also teaches in San Francisco. She rented a space in Mission/Potrero area to teach and was very flexible in working with us in the evening to accommodate our work schedule.Overall, we had so much fun learning from Angie. I would recommend her to literally anybody, especially those who want to try choreographed wedding dance but don't feel confident.
Mar 28, 2025 · Minso KimMy husband and I worked with Angie for our first dance for our wedding and she is amazing. I really cannot recommend her enough. My husband in particular was really nervous about our first dance because he considered himself an awkward dancer. Dance lessons with Angie ended up being our favorite wedding activity (yes, including cake tasting!) When you are planning a wedding, there are so many details and stress but Angie helps you have fun with the first dance and then practicing was something my husband and I could do together that helped us feel connected in all the craziness. Angie really started at the beginning with us (basic steps and moves) and then choreographed our first dance at our skill level, so we felt confident and proud at our wedding. She also instructed us on how to dance with a big dress and to live music! I had such a great experience working with her with my husband that I actually asked her to help with my father/daughter dance as well. It was a very different task: my dad and I both love to dance so it was more about incorporating a few moves at “big moments” rather than choreography. She was spectacular at that too. She really will personalize anything you need in terms of dance instruction and make sure you have a ton of fun while preparing for your big day. My husband and I also now have the confidence and skills to dance together at other weddings and events, which I love! Thank you Angie!! You are the best.Photo Credit: Larissa Cleveland Photography
