American Academy of Dance Reviews
This is our sixth year with AAD, and my daughter absolutely loves it. Watching her grow from a shy, timid little girl into a confident dancer, now in her third year on the competition team and preparing for her very first solo, has been such a proud moment for us. We are truly amazed by the incredible dance teachers she’s had over the years. The instructors, staff, and owners have been so supportive and helpful, always there no matter the challenge. We’re also incredibly grateful for the strong friendships she’s made, not just with her fellow dancers, but with the parents as well. It truly feels like a family where everyone supports and lifts each other up. We couldn’t be happier to be part of this amazing community.
Sep 17, 2024 · Eilleen RJWe were underwhelmed. My then 5 year old was so excited to start dance lessons and “become a ballerina” but as the season went on, she was less and less excited to go to class. I noticed she struggled with the routine and brought this up to the teacher several times and asked about the possibility of doing some private lessons to help her learn the routine at least 3 different times and was brushed off and was assured she was doing great. At the recital, it was clear she was several steps behind her peers and did not know the routine by heart.I realize these kids are 5/6 years old and just starting out and I in no way was expecting to see perfection, but she wasn’t even smiling on stage as she was trying so hard to concentrate. She doesn’t want to continue dance which is sad with how much excitement she had starting out. I think a little bit of extra instruction would have gone a long way in how she feels about dance. The dances and costumes were cute and overall the recital was fun to watch.
