Academy of Movement & Music Reviews
Former serious dancer here, and I send my 7 year-old daughter here for once a week ballet class. I appreciate the talented teachers, the many performance opportunities, and that even the older students who serve as demonstrators for the little kids' classes are very kind and gentle with the little ones. There's a family-like culture here, and I can imagine my daughter growing up here if she wants to continue with dance. Thanks for being here!

The love of dance is apparent in every faculty member and student. It is something beyond special to watch your child fall in love with dance. Thank you to all of the staff for their dedication!
Dec 12, 2024 · Abigail PircThis school is incredible and upholds its legacy and reputation throughout the years. Their ballet instruction is excellent, their commitment to technique and form is evident, and their support systems for all levels of dancers are wonderful. From the casual dancer, to the aspiring professional, this is the dance studio for you!Additionally, their A.R.T.S Preschool program is fabulous! I love their loving, kind, and committed teachers. My boys felt so welcomed and celebrated in their classrooms. I only wish the Preschool could extend their hours!
Jun 15, 2024 · Rebecca RomanoThe Academy of Movement and Music is a truly amazing and special place for our family. The dance teachers are absolutely wonderful, true professionals who create a deep sense of community and family. The dance recitals are amazing story ballets and so fun to watch. They re-use and provide costumes for recitals, which is so nice for waste-reduction and cost savings. It's a boy-friendly program too. My daughters and son have all tried dance classes here, and I've even taken a couple classes as well, and we have had nothing but great experiences. One of my kids is very serious about dance (currently in her 7th year of ballet), and I feel that she is learning excellent technique, and this dance school is very professional and high quality to help her meet her goals and provide performance opportunities at the Academy and with their companion dance company, Momenta. They are very mindful of healthy body image, bodily autonomy, and injury prevention, and I feel they provide a great foundation for a lifetime of dancing for my daughter. She is also learning responsibility, commitment, community-building, time-management, leadership as a demonstrator, and self-care. The rest of us have just danced for fun, with a class here or there, and we've all found a good fit here at intro/beginner levels. The preschool program is also fantastic, and my 3 kids all went through the program. It's very child-centered and creative, with focus on movement/active bodies. I loved that my kids tended to bring home fewer projects that they spent more time on, so there's a quality vs quantity focus with art projects, which was so refreshing for preschool. Take a tour, try a class–you won't regret it, and your child just might find their great passion, as my daughter did!
Oct 05, 2022 · Elle MortonMy daughter has been dancing at The Academy for 11 years and she LOVES it. I am astounded by the beautiful, well-rounded, safe dancer she has become and I credit that to the instructors at The Academy. I recommend this school.
