Volusia Academy of Gymnastics & Dance Reviews
My daughter attended gymnastics here for over a year. Our experience here was good until it wasn't.Over 2 weeks ago I went to bring her to class and she was HYSTERICAL and wouldn't even get out of the car to go to the class. She wouldn’t tell me what's wrong (she's 5) and I thought maybe she was just overtired so we went home. The following week I could not even get her out of the HOUSE to go. I called the academy to explain that something obviously happened and I can’t get her back into this class, even though I had just paid for the upcoming session a day ago. I asked about forgoing the 8 makeup classes I have with them and to receive a refund for the session I had just paid for since there was no way I could use it, for which I was told no.What bothers me the most about this:Absolutely ZERO concern for why. No accountability, no mention of trying to figure out what went wrong, having a conversation with staff to look into what happened to make a 5 year old terrified of setting foot into this building.I was told there was a 30 day notice required to drop a class, ok fine, but they are literally KEEPING 8 classes that I've already paid for, like 2 months of classes PLUS the upcoming session - so another month.I looked at this facility as a community staple. I was understanding when issues came up with them and they had to cancel classes, I was understanding when they changed her coach with no notice, I was understanding when they switched her coach again back to the original one months later, again with zero notice. I'm flexible because I get that things happen and situations arise and we can’t always account for that.It really aggravates me that something happened here that greatly upset my daughter and they not only don’t care, but thought it was fair to keep my money.

Feb 09, 2025 · Salem DimesPaid for costumes for a recital that was supposed to happen in May of 2020. Due to corona virus that was cancelled. Due to corona virus I did not wish to enroll her back during times when the virus was spiking. Apparently they went on with the show in August and now I've been told I do not get my money back. That is poor customer service. It is not my fault there is a pandemic. I would not make people pay for something they did not get. I wouldnt take my dog this place. Was ready to enroll her in summer camp but I'd rather give my money elsewhere to people that deserve it.
May 20, 2021 · Stacy HolcombI called last week to find out about dance or gymnastics for 2 year old and was told she could do gymnastics Wednesday from 5-5:30. Not once did they mention it’s a mom and me class till I showed up today and no one greeted us, people walked by us and smiled never said a word to us. I had no idea where to go. It was past 5 and people were just looking at me. I asked where to go and the lady just really could care less. Needless to say I walked out and left.Super disappointed. I was really excited but this just really ruined the experience!! Do not recommend!!!
Jul 21, 2021 · Heather DreggorsAfter 5 months of taking my daughter to this gym, we have decided to leave. While she has a great time, the staff isn't very professional, classes never start on time and/or end early and instead of fixing the problem, they just shorten official class times. I'll take my business elsewhere!
