Just finished my last level 0 class and wanted to share how AMAZING the teachers are (Becky & Antonio)!! They really encourage everyone and explain the steps so clearly. They even give fine tuning tips after class to those of us who ask and want to challenge ourselves even more. They are awesome!! Erica and Juan are great, too- they are so organized and have fantastic communication (they personalize their email responses if you contact themwith any questions). This program works! Thank you! - Jenn D

Services Offered:

  • Progressive Salsa On2 Courses: The core offering is a structured, progressive curriculum across multiple levels (Level 0 to Level 5 and beyond), ensuring a systematic approach to learning. Each course typically includes 6 classes, building upon concepts week by week to develop muscle memory.
  • Beginner-Friendly "Intro to Salsa On2" (Level 0): Specifically designed for complete beginners, this course requires no prior dance experience, focusing on fundamental steps, musicality, and basic partnering.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Levels: As students progress, levels 1 through 5 and specialized classes cover increasingly complex shines (footwork), turn patterns, partnering skills, and body movement, enhancing speed, coordination, and improvisation.
  • Musicality & Body Movement Classes: Dedicated classes like those on Mondays with Becky focus on deepening students' understanding of Salsa music and improving their body isolation and expression.
  • Shines Classes: These classes focus specifically on individual footwork and styling, allowing dancers to develop their solo expression on the dance floor.
  • Partnering Skills Workshops: Advanced classes, often on Thursdays, focus on refining leading and following techniques, crucial for seamless social dancing.
  • Social Dance Practice and Outings: Levels 2 and up include social dance practice within classes, and at the end of each course series, a "Salsa Field Trip!" to a local Latin Dance Club is organized, providing real-world application of learned skills in a supportive group setting.
  • Online Membership: For added flexibility, students can access class replays online, which is a valuable resource for reviewing material or making up missed classes.
  • Open House Events: The Salsa Beat regularly hosts Open House events before new series, allowing prospective students to try a free beginner class, meet the team, and get assessed for appropriate level placement.
  • No Partner Necessary: The program ensures a balanced number of leaders and followers, and everyone rotates partners during class, fostering adaptation and providing diverse practice opportunities. Private lessons are an option for those who prefer not to rotate.
