Their curriculum is structured to be curriculum-based, providing foundational dance techniques in a fun, non-competitive, and supportive manner. Here's a detailed overview of the types of classes and services typically offered:
- Ballet Classes: Introduction to fundamental classical ballet techniques, focusing on grace, posture, basic positions, and rhythmic movement, tailored for young children. Classes often include creative movement exercises.
- Tap Dance Classes: Engaging classes that teach children to create rhythmic sounds with their feet using tap shoes, focusing on basic tap steps, musicality, and coordination.
- Jazz Dance Classes: Energetic classes that explore various jazz styles, incorporating isolations, turns, leaps, and dynamic choreography, suitable for different age groups.
- Hip-Hop Dance Classes: High-energy, urban/street-style dance classes that focus on rhythm, creative movement, and age-appropriate choreography, popular for both boys and girls.
- Musical Theatre Classes: Combining elements of dance, acting, and sometimes singing, these classes introduce children to the world of Broadway and stage performance, building confidence and storytelling skills.
- Combination Classes (e.g., Ballet/Tap Combo): Often offered for younger students, these classes blend two dance styles in one session, providing a broader introduction to dance and keeping little ones engaged.
- Age-Specific Programs: Classes are typically divided by age groups (e.g., 3-5 years for Ballet/Tap, 4-8 years for Hip-Hop, 4.5-8 years for Ballet/Jazz Combo, and "Little Starlets" for younger performers), ensuring age-appropriate instruction and social interaction.
- Non-Competitive Curriculum: A core philosophy is to provide a "non-competitive studio with a curriculum-based program" that teaches dance in a structured yet fun manner, focusing on personal growth rather than external competition.
