The Center Stage Studio Reviews
We joined The Center of Sage Studio last season, and it’s been an incredible journey. My daughter started off very shy, and now — just a year later — she’s won two solo awards at recent competitions! She’s grown so much as an actress, dancer, and singer. We’re truly grateful we found this studio and are so happy to still be part of it!
Apr 13, 2025 · Andrei SMy daughter has been a triple threat (dancer, singer, actor) for 7 years at CSS. The training she’s received is invaluable, but even more important are the friendships she’s formed for life. Highly recommend for any child interested in the arts!
Jan 04, 2025 · Lauren CarterI feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with this place. My daughter dedicated weeks to preparing for her audition, immersing herself in the material and memorizing every line and several songs. She even read the book a few of times. On audition day, she was frustrated to witness some kids, including one who sang "Happy Birthday," not putting in any effort. When roles were assigned, she was shocked to receive the least lines ( out of the 18 kids) and her entire contribution to this musical would have merely been 4 words and some dancing around the main characters. Shockingly, the child who sang "Happy Birthday" was given a much larger role with significantly more lines. The director could care less and her explanation was that those kids had previously attended classes/ multiple weeks of summer camp and we have never worked with your daughter before. If that's the case, they should be completely transparent about this policy; it felt like auditions were just a formality, favoring those who had spent the most money at the school. My child also witnessed first hand that the kids who got the best roles constantly hugging the director who assigns the roles so as other reviewers have mentioned, favoritism plays a huge role at this place. Even a 9 year has noticed. When I requested to speak with Tracy, the owner, I was met with a frustrating runaround. My daughter has participated in several musical theatre camps before and has never felt as let down or unfairly treated as she did at this place. I took her out of this camp and they refunded the rest of the days. I rather spend the last few days of summer with my daughter than sending her to a camp that she witnesses unfairness and favoritism. I am proud of her for recognizing this behavior and as her advocate I refused for my daughter to spend any time in such environment.
Aug 24, 2024 · Shari BMy two boys (ages 6 and 8) had a wonderful first experience doing musical theatre at Center Stage! They were in the Itty Bitty cast and they enjoyed going to weekly practices. It was challenging for them to learn their lines but they were well supported by the staff during practices and the two performances. Thank you Center Stage Studio!
Dec 06, 2024 · Kati LanderMy kids have been going to this studio for over five years. We have done many recreational plays, camps, and I now have two children on their competitive teams. One is on their competitive musical theater teams and dance teams, and the other is on only dance teams. There are a few other very local dance studios that I could send my children too, but not one of them offers what Center Stage offers my children. My third has been in many plays and has attended summer camps for years. The staff offer a “second home” like feeling for my kids. They give the kids a place to do their homework if needed, a safe place to be dropped off and picked up, and above all they offer an ear if any one of them has had a concern in their practices. All of my kids have said the teachers are (in their own words) approachable, kind, and respectful. The confidence all three of my children have earned from performing on stage at The Center Stage Studio is irreplaceable. At no point have I ever allowed them to argue with a role they have received. These teachers are well trained, experienced professionals who have worked with kids that have gone on to do paid, professional work.I am extremely grateful the owners continue to provide exceptional theater and dance training as well as a safe place for my kids who have chosen this path for their after school activities. This is not a business focused only on bringing in revenue. This is a place focused on fostering the love of the musical theater arts and giving back that love to our community.
