Suncoast Academy of Dance Reviews
We love Mrs April, Mrs Gwen. We have two dancers and this is the best dance place!!
Apr 02, 2025 · K DI went here for a few years and it had its fun times. There are a few flaws with the grouping though. Also almost all the girls are skinny and I’ve never been the slimmest and because of that I got bullied a lot. Adding on to the grouping, the kids were always either way older or way younger and the kids who had been at the studio longer always got favorited and got the best choreography. It was fun sometimes though. The teachers were pretty nice but some of them were unreasonable and scary. But on the other hand the rehearsals were the best and then recitals were very fun.
Nov 06, 2022 · Tata SeenaWe put our daughter in the Preschool class for dance. They wear tap dance shoes for half the class and ballet shoes for the other half of the class. For the most part, I think the class is lacking a little for this young age group. They don't do any kind of free dance at the end to keep up the kids excitement about dancing. They do a lot of "one at a time" skills, which means the kids spend a lot of time just sitting around. It would be better if they picked one skill per day to work on individually and then did the other skills at the same time as a group. I also wish they did a bit more free dance, just for fun.One other thing to keep in mind. For Preschool, parents must stay and watch. The only way to watch is to stand outside, in the blazing sun, and look through the exterior window. There is no interior viewing window for parents. In the summer, this is incredibly hot. There are fans outside, but they don't turn them on unless you ask, so I would suggest asking and dress in cool clothing!
Jun 18, 2018 · Jill SI’ve only been with this studio a year now but I love it much more then any other studio I’ve been with! I also enjoy (for the recitals) that we have dress rehearsal on a different day than the actual recital because at my old dance studio we had the dress rehearsal and the recital the same day and it was very tiring. Overall this is a great studio and I highly recommend it!💘
Jun 22, 2018 · Angelica MillerI will not give this place any type of recommendation. I was at first very excited about my daughter attending after rave reviews for ballet and acro. However I was misinformed. I received a call from john on a Sunday @9am stating he did not know if my daughter was ready for acro. He stated since shes 4 weeks shy of her 6th bday he felt that she wasn't ready and a trial class would be best. I said ok . Shes been in ballet before so I was looking for something more structured. However once again I was wrong! Today 4 days later his feeble mind barely remembered our conversation and told me that he didn't think she ready to do either. He went on to say that most of the girls in that class had 3 years experience, but your website states 6 - 11 . I guess that means they are incompetent to teach a 6 yr old basics that a level 1 class offers or that your website states it does. He stated she'd be best if I put her in a combo class with children younger than her, shes not interest in that combo. As a parent I will not subject her to this kind of discrimination.
