Santo Rico Dance Florida Reviews
Santo Rico is the best place to learn On2 Salsa in Orlando. I trained with Tomas, the director, when I lived in New York, and I was thrilled to find him teaching here after I relocated. The instructors are top-notch, and my dancing has grown exponentially—and continues to improve with every class.Especially for beginners, this is the best place to learn On2 Salsa. Everything is broken down in a way that makes it easy to understand and build a strong foundation. I also love that there are special workshops every month to further refine what we learn in class. The vibe is very welcoming and I've made life long friends coming to this studio. Highly recommend for anyone looking to elevate their dancing in a welcoming environment!

Jan 27, 2025 · Fabiola Gonzalez5/5! Santo Rico is hands down the best dance school in Central Florida, and it’s not even close. I’ve been part of the SR community for almost two years now, and my dance journey has been transformative. I started with just the basic salsa step on1, and now I’m taking intermediate/advanced lessons on2 in addition to practicing with their student team. What truly sets them apart from other schools is the exceptional instruction provided by Tomas, Luc, Conroy, and Anitta. They have a unique way of explaining and breaking down every aspect of the dance, making it easy to understand and apply. Before joining Santo Rico, I briefly attended three other on1 salsa schools, but the quality of instruction and technique at SR is on a completely different level. Other schools will teach salsa patterns that might look fancy, but often without a focus on how to properly execute them or how they connect to the music. At SR, you don’t just learn steps – you also dive into music theory, learn how to count and interpret the rhythm, and you gain a deep understanding of body motion, an aspect that many other schools overlook. The best part of SR though, is the incredible community. Everyone treats each other like family and is incredibly supportive. Whether you're a beginner learning the basics, a dancer refining your technique, or someone looking to take their skills to the next level, you’ll find exactly what you need here. Some people come to meet new friends, others to get in shape, but no matter your reason for joining, you’ll find a welcoming and encouraging environment at Santo Rico.
Mar 10, 2025 · Jose Mayi RivasUpdate: since this review two unauthorized $250 charges were made to my account.Reply: Your response indicates a lack of knowledge or interest in the student. The issue is not my lack of progress--that's just me and my learning challenges. The issue is Santo Rico lacks learning space for those who need more time in the advanced beginner/beginner intermediate phase and you are impatient with students like myself who do not quickly make the leap.During my year with Santo Rico I completed many cycles. You asked me to leave the training team because I couldn't come to the Christmas party (I had conflicting family responsibilities). I found that to be quite mean spirited. I missed two practices because YOU changed the time and did not communicate those new times to me. The last time I went to practice, you spent the better part of the course teaching what appeared to be a free private to two other students rather than working with your paying team members. This was during a month when costs doubled due to irregular pricing struggles. In combination with the constant personal accusations of not practicing or not trying, it became difficult to focus on learning. As I explained, I practiced regularly but I learn slower than others but I do make steady progress with the right teacher. Your response is more of the same blame. Santo Rico is a great fit for some. Not for me. Given the lack of intermediate students, this is likely true for others as well.Original review: Great for beginners. Good for more advanced dancers who like choreo. Not good or patient for those who are struggling in the middle. Also, the pricing and scheduling is unpredictable recently. Sucked all the joy out of salsa for me.
Feb 01, 2025 · Jozanne LundI can not recommend this dance studio enough! Being from NYC, I had been aware of SR’s amazing reputation. I began attending SR in June with 3 of my best friends, and we continue to look forward to attending more classes. I was completely new to “salsa”, and while I still have a lot to learn, I have acquired the foundations that most dance schools lack. Tomas, Annitta, Conroy, Luc, and Krystal are outstanding instructors that attain unique qualities necessary for our progress. The most crucial being the ability to find our weaknesses without sacrificing encouragement. I have gained new friends while learning, exercising, and more importantly, having FUN. I am so grateful to be a part of the Santo Rico family!
